About 50 miles northeast of Trento, Corvara in Badia is the principle town of Alta Badia, a ski resort area at the top end of the Val Badia Valley in Bolzano-Bozen. Home to many alpine skiing World Cup events, the gorgeous mountain region also has many lovely towns and beautiful sights not on the normal beaten tourist path, such as the Sante Croce pilgrimage church and the Museum Ladin Ciastel de Tor (Little Ladin Museum), honoring the unique Dolomite culture of the local Ladin people.

We booked ski equipment from here and arrived at peak time on a Saturday evening. However the staff have a very clear production line and we were soon dealt with. When my first boots didn't fit quite right there were no quibbles and another option was immediately available. Equipment was all fairly new and in good condition. Staff were friendly and helpful. You do need to register on their system when you arrive but evidently if you book on their website they will already have asked for a lot of the same information so it makes the process easier. Returns was easy, they just scanned the bar code on the boots and skis and off we went. Note that there is parking outside of the shop but it can get quite busy as it's shared with some hotels. We parked in the pay and display just down the hill and then took the car up after we'd got our equipment.

The walk all together is 8 km. It goes through the woods to the waterfall. The views of the surrounding mountains are stunning. The path is wide and easy to follow and quite easy for all abilities
