The 9 Best Cultural Tours in Queens, Queens

August 20, 2021 Jeremy Dunfee

Queens is the most ethnically diverse area of its size on Earth, which means there's a little something for everyone. Chow down on Indian food, sit in on a traditional Irish pub music session, and dance the night away at a Puerto Rican nightclub, all of it located within a few subway stops. Queens is also the home of the Mets and the US Tennis Open, and the former home of the New York World's Fair, now Flushing Meadow-Corona Park, and Paramount Pictures, now the Museum of the Moving Image.

This tour first goes to Queens, one of the most ethnically diverse places in the world. At this borough’s Gantry State Park, we see restored "gantries" and learn about their critical role in the city's commerce in the first part of the 20th century. The view across the East River provides an unforgettable photo opportunity. In Brooklyn, we encounter New York’s ethnic mosaic—Williamsburg—where a centuries-old culture lives on within the orthodox Jewish community. In Greenpoint, another great Brooklyn neighborhood, we’ll discover a vibrant Polish community that honors its roots with native cuisine and language. We’ll also visit the Lower East Side of Manhattan, an area generations of immigrants have called home. As we complete this tour, we pass directly in front of the United Nations, aplace to reflect on the unique urban mosaic that makes the Big Apple a fascinating place to explore!

Manny was a great tour guide. Very informative and funny. It's a petty that not more tourists book this safe tour even during Covid. We have been the first group of 3 for this tour in months.

Gary's knowledge of history and movies of New York was great conversation for the tour and Boris was a perfect gentleman helping ma get in and out of the SUV.

The bus never showed and the tour company could not reach Amigo Tours!! Amigo Tours is not reputable, and,are scam artists. Any company that doesn't have a working contact number is ridiculous!! I am an attorney and will be taking legal action against this company!! Once we are refunded the money from the company we booked through, I will be filing a class action consumer suit against Amigo Tours!! You scammed the wrong Lawyer!!!!
