Located in the very Northwest corner of Pennsylvania, Erie is the State's only Great Lakes port city. The Lake is the main attraction in Erie, with the sparkling water giving Erie its nickname, "Gem City." The nearby peninsula of Presque Isle State Park provides residents and visitors ample opportunities for outdoor activities such as sailing, swimming, hiking, and biking. The city is also part of the Snowbelt, famous for the winter wonderland created by the lake effect.

All An Act Productions, or A3, as we affectionately call it, is an Erie theatre troupe whose mission is to make quality theatre more accessible to the Greater Erie Community. We strive to expose more people to The Arts and continue the tradition of live Theatre in Erie. All An Act Productions was founded in 2004 by Larry Lewis (Managing Director) and David W. Mitchell (Artistic Director). The Arts should be accessible to everyone and live theatre is no exception. We endeavor to provide a venue where those who can’t regularly go and see Erie Theatre can, and those who already do can go more often. Our intimate space allows us the opportunity to bring you even more quality productions at an affordable price! Additionally, $1 of every admission is donated to Community Shelter Services and benefits Erie's Homeless. Here are some of the comments we received from our audiences:"I am honored to become a fan. Arsenic and Old Lace was fabulous. Looking forward to attending more shows." -Connie Iesue-Bucci "Why don't Erieians know about this wonderful production? I don't think I missed a single play last winter." -Elizabeth Cavette "Not Now Darling is hysterical, we all laughed harder than I think I ever have." - Patty LaFlamme Sample"GREAT SHOW !! SPENT AN ENJOYABLE EVENING WITH MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER AND SOME GREAT THEATRE - CONGRATS TO THE CAST ON THIS SOLD OUT SHOW !!!" - Robert Smerick"Taking great strides forward this year were All An Act Productions' Larry Lewis and David W. Mitchell. Their 2008 shows began and ended with proficiently performed farces by Ray Cooney. They also met the rigorous demands of Edward Albee's "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?", the challenge of their first musical "The Last 5 Years", high gravitas in "12 Angry Men", and geriatric warmth in "A Bench In The Sun". Audience growth bodes well for the future." Floyd Lawrence, Showcase Magazine. "...in the months I have been reviewing plays at A3 one thing I have noticed is that the team of Larry Lewis and David Mitchell has a magic that no other theatre has. They are all looking for it but they just miss it. I am not sure what it is, or how they do it, but the two of them are making the works performed at A3 some of the best, most enjoyable shows in town." - Rob Taylor, EriJams Magazine
One of our daughters gifts us with Season Passes every year so we are old patrons by now. Today we joined in the story of "God's Favorite." AAA typically chooses a comedy to close out the season and this choice was among our favorites. Rather than spoil the story line, please give yourself (or selves) this theater gift to make you laugh out loud, question your beliefs and remind you that Faith is a sometimes hilarious journey. Many surprises await!! We have mentioned before that a $ of every ticket sale goes back into the Community Shelter wherein both AAA and the Shelter are housed. Over $60k has been raised since the inception of AAA.

We left Bradford on time at 12:30 and arrived in Erie just before opening at 2:15. Lobby was packed and noisy until doors opened. Assigned tables eliminated a lot of confusion. Dinner began with warm soup and salad then merriment on stage. Everyone had a whole baked stuffed chicken next, nice and hot and cooked perfectly. Another round of farcical acting followed by a lemon fluff cake with cheddar cheese wedges and apple slices. The meal without utensils was complete with warm hand towels and great audience pleasure.

In 2011, Mercyhurst University announced the formation of the Institute for Arts & Culture, which oversees the arts programming accomplished by the Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center and other venues on campus. The Institute manages the planning and execution of artistic and cultural events on campus in coordination with faculty and students. Overarching to these activities is the desire to develop future patrons of the arts among Mercyhurst students and the greater Erie community through new initiatives and cross collaborations. The $3.6 million Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center was dedicated on April 20, 1996, to George and Mary D'Angelo, two of Mercyhurst's biggest benefactors and advocates of the arts. The venue has hosted more than 100 famous musicians, dancers, puppeteers, choirs and performance artists. It is nicknamed the "Miniature Met of Erie." Its famous chandeliers are designed to match the chandeliers in The Metropolitan Opera. They were made in Austria from pure crystal.
FABULOUS performance by these talented people from many countries---Switzerland, Spain, Cuba, Columbia, Chili, Japan, China and the USA. There were three acts, Swan Lake, Pas De Deux and Valpurgeyeva Noch. The music was beautiful, the costumes excellent. This was hysterical and so entertaining. I hope they return to Erie. We would definitely go back!
The mission of the Erie Chamber Orchestra is to ensure that everyone has access to classical music, regardless of age, income, education or cultural background. To that end, all performances will be presented free of charge!

The Erie Playhouse always produces an enjoyable and wonderful performance. The current offering in Feb & Mar 2020, Gaslight, is one of the best plays I've seen there. Cast did an outstanding job! Especially, Amanda Hurd, who is on stage at least 95% of the play. The set was very well done. The lighting staff did a great job especially since lighting was an integral part of the show. The playhouse itself is comfortable and easy to get to. The productions are always enjoyable.
