The Danish architectural firm BIG - Bjarke Ingels Group, has created a spectacular setting for a new attraction hidden underneath the sand, in the protected dune landscape near Blaavand. The museum has three permanent exhibitions, a gallery for special exhibitions, an original bunker from WW2, a cafe and a shop. Due to COVID-19 restrictions you need to buy tickets online before your visit
Cool Interactive museum about the bunker and the west coast of Denmark. Beautiful amber collection and good storytelling about amber

The beach offers for everyone something: Soft sand for relaxing, wet sand for building castles, stones and mushles and concluding a soft branding with undeposited entrance of ocean.

On this peninsula you will find peace. The sand dunes protect you from the stormy sea to the west. And towards the east you will see the skyline of Esbjerg. On Skallingen you will see grazing sheep, many chances for a fine hike or a picnic. A pair of Wellies will help you through the muddy passages. Have fun !

We have been to this zoo 4 times now, and enjoy it every time. Although we are used to bigger and more international places, Blåvand Zoo is more cozy to walk around in with plenty of places to sit and rest too. You can feed some of the animals and if you are lucky, a monkey will jump on your shoulders while walking around:-) Their 3 white lions are soo beautiful, and the big highlight in the zoo. This zoo is for everybody, and we normally stay there for 3 - 4 hours. The prices are very fair, the fast food is good and they have a great gift shop too.

Interesting take on modern art turning a concrete bunker into a horse sculpture. The artist Bill Woodrow did a great service to the town of Blaavand with his modern art on the beach. Nice to visit. Great views from both the beach and the air!
