Enjoy the Northeast's most spectacular beach and follow trails and boardwalks through a landscape of sand dunes and salt marsh.
Crane's Beach is one of the nicest beaches in Massachusetts, which can be accessed year-round. Great trails or explore in the dunes as well. An entrance fee is charged ($10 per car, $5 for Crane's Beach trustee members).

Experience the grandeur of a seaside estate and its marvelously landscaped grounds, notable for a broad, undulating lawn running down to the shore.
Beautiful and breathtaking, the grounds of this local are a treat to see. The sprawling back lawn stretches for what must be a half mile of grass. The property boasts several walking trails, although word of caution my wife and I found the trails closer to estate entrance to be a bit challenging and would likely avoid on the next trip. The mansion is closed due to Covid-19 but just experiencing it from the exterior is fantastic and it is easy to tell it is well taken care of and maintained. My only gripes are minor. There were/are several water features that were inoperable, especially notably on the formal garden, would have liked to see those operating. In addition i wish they had marked some of the plants/trees on cite. There was a beautiful large tree with purple leaves on route up to mansion on the main drive I really wanted to learn about. Turns out it is a Purple Leafed European Beach Tree, if any of you see it. Definitely will be back

At the Ipswich Museum 400 years of history surround you at every turn. Our extensive collections of fine and decorative art celebrate the historical and architectural significance of Ipswich. The Ipswich Museum is located near the town center of Ipswich, Massachusetts - approximately 30 miles northeast of Boston. Ipswich was founded in 1633 and is well known for its early 17th century architecture - 58 homes built prior to 1725 are still in existence today. Our museum is anchored by two significant properties: the 1677 Whipple House and the 1800 Heard House. Both properties are filled with original architectural detail, furnishings, and artifacts that give visitors an intimate glimpse into the lives of early Ipswich residents. All museum properties and gardens are within walking distance of each other, as well as the charming shops, pubs and restaurants of downtown Ipswich. The town is surrounded by 33 square miles of natural beauty - rolling fields, forests, salt marshes, beaches, and estuaries - all worthy of further exploration and the perfect complement to your museum visit. The Museum is open for guided tours from May through October. In 2015, we will be open for tours from May 23 to October 11. Guided tours of the 1677 Whipple House, 1800 Heard House, and authentic reproduction 1657 Alexander Knight House are available Thursday-Saturday from 10AM-4PM and Sunday 1PM-4PM. The Museum's offices are open Tuesday-Thursday from 10AM-4PM.

Ipswich Ale Brewery has been a fixture on Boston's north shore since 1991 - focused on brewing tradition, innovation, and community.
We did two different flights at $8 each and loved them all. The blueberry lemon shandy is really delicious. I really enjoyed the no bite flight, which featured a cranberry sour. The roast beef poutine fries were ok, I think with a little tweaking they can be stepped up a bit. Our bartender was attentive but not overly nice. She ran away and was looking on her phone a bit. We felt like we were bothering her. The beer is awesome, I would highly recommend this place.

Wander past crop fields and cow pastures at the country's oldest continuously operating farm.
this place has mapped trails that are wide, clean and relatively flat. The farm is beautiful, and adjacent woods are very nice. We did a loop that totalled just under four miles. you could squeeze out six if you wanted to. This is a working farm with a farm store and visitor's center. We just hiked, so I can't speak for the farm's other attractions, but it has some organized activities as well so might be suitable for kids, especially on the right day. There is a separate parking lot for the woods, which we accessed via trails from the farm. However, the woods allow off-leash dogs while dogs aren't allowed at all on the farm.
