Welcome to Bluegrass Country, the "Horse Capital of the World." But you don't have to be an avid racehorse fan to enjoy the natural beauty, culture and history that this exciting city has to offer. At the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary, for example, hiking trails wend their way through forests, meadows and gentle creeks, taking you past historic landmarks; there's even a nighttime guided walk for stargazing. The best place in the world for raising thoroughbred horses, Lexington has over 500 horse farms. The Kentucky Horse Park features films, horse shows and exhibits. Be sure to tour the American Saddle Horse Museum, dedicated to the native Kentucky breed, and watch races at the lovely Keeneland Race Course in season. Historic sites are plentiful here, including the Waveland State Historic Site, the childhood home of Mary Todd Lincoln and the Ashland estate of famed Kentucky statesman Henry Clay.

Located north of Main Street at the end of the popular Jefferson on West Sixth Street. Fresh, local beer made on site and served in a spacious taproom, beer garden, and patio.A great place to kick back, drink some great beer, meet with friends, watch the game, or just hang out.
This is our stop on our way back north from Red River Gorge. Everytime. Great beer, dog friendly, games for the kids, etc. Love everything about stopping here. Get a burger next door at Smithtown while you are at it.

Established in 1794, Alltech's Lexington Brewery Company continues a splendid tradition of quality brewing producing Kentucky Ale, Kentucky Light and Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. The brew hall viewing area, bottling operations, gift shop and an authentic Irish pub are available for tours. Bus tours and walk-ups invited.
A must stop on your bourbon trail experience. Our expert, Susan, was personable, knowledgeable, passionate and energetic about the process and history of Town Branch and how it got to where it is today. She made us feel extraordinarily welcome! We began with the intention of doing only a tasting and were convinced to do the tour. We ended up with four bottles of unique Kentucky whiskeys. This is not exclusively a bourbon experience, as they have a brewery and other whiskeys produced by this craft brewer and distiller. We only scratched the surface on our visit to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, but we will definitely include Lexington Brewery & Distilling Co. on our next visit.

Country Boy is always a highlight of my visits to Lexington, but the last time I was here they were closed because of COVID. My friend and I enjoyed sitting outside in the tent with the heaters until around 10 when even the heaters couldn't keep up with the cold. They have a wide selection of beers, and being a fan of darker beers I have a selection of 6 or more of these, including peanut butter stout and the always tasty Shotgun Wedding. My friend likes cider and he enjoyed their traditional hard cider. They now have their own kitchen and the baked wings were superb. Zach and Powers took good care of us and I always enjoying talking to both of them. Powers usually is at the bar, and I like to sit there before and after UK games where I often meet fans from around the US. I can't say enough about Country Boy. If you love beer you have to go!

We were in town overnight and luckily chose this brewery for a visit. We really enjoyed the peanut butter porter! Also, we hot carryout food from their restaurant Wild Duetschland. The food was amazing!

Was a very nice place to sit outside on a nice October evening and have a drink. It seems like it is in a very hip location with a lot of bars and restaurants. They had many beers on tap and we had a flight and tried four. My favorite was the Boxy Brown. Put coconut in any beer and I'm in! We got a carryout pizza from Goodfellows next door so it was nice to be able to walk over and pick that up and eat it with our beer.

Wise Bird Cider is a small, family-run business committed to crafting small-batch heritage ciders made with a focus on tradition and quality from the best apples we can get our hands on. We believe that great apples make great ciders and we source as many apples as we can from Kentucky but we also seek out harder to find, cider-specific apples from our neighbors in Ohio and Virginia when we need to. We are committed to our community, to Lexington, and to Kentucky. We believe in staying as local as possible for as much as possible. We believe in being good people, hiring good people and that giving back to our community makes our world a better place. Come visit and let us know what you think!
We lived in the UK for four years and whilst there I developed a love of cider! Since moving back to North America I have searched and search for proper, flavourful, not sickeningly sweet cider like what I find in the grocery and Wise Bird Cider is IT!! I’m joining their cider club and will be back as often as possible!! Terrific cider and a fun place as well. A cider to show that it’s not a ‘girls’ drink ???? The cider company is nestled in the Lexington distillery district so there is something to appeal to everyone.
