Our fabulous Billiards Room and Eagle Suite can hold 100+ guests. An ideal wedding reception, party or meeting venue.
Booked by friends as we were doing a 3 night road trip. The room was lovely not the best of views (looking out on the extractor for the kitchen). Ticked all the boxes BUT I have stayed in cooler rooms in Asia and the noise was very loud too. No lie in available here as the extractor went on at 07:00. The window would not open to get some cooler air in so there was no point in using the dusty fan in the wardrobe. Think outside the box and include air conditioning in very hot rooms. The breakfast was good which made up for the mega hot and noisy room

This hotel is a very old building so expect fixtures and fittings to not be up to scratch. However, the website only shows you a refurbished room which when you first enter it gives you a sense ‘ooh this is nice’. When you open the bathroom door you then get a wow moment. Don’t be fooled. This room is all style with no substance. If you have time, having a shower is long and frustrating. The hot water takes an absolute age to come through. You can actually brush your teeth while you are waiting. Then when the water does get hot it trickles from the shower head with absolutely no power at all. Our family’s room was tired and let’s not even discuss the state of the shower in their room. Nobody wanted to even use it!

Just came home from a 2night stay here and can honestly say this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Very dated room right next to the car park. Even with the window shut you can hear everything…. You could hear everything that was happening in the other guests rooms… the guests next door were arguing until 2/3am, did call down to the night porter who said he’d check out what was going on. But when I queried it next morning apparently he heard nothing… Shower was rusty, bath hadn’t been cleaned very well. Bed sheets were fresh though… and lady on reception was nice. Would not recommend this hotel.

Although only a short visit, everything from start to finish was excellent. A warm welcome that continued throughout. A generously sized room with large, comfortable bed and a large sofa. Great shower and lots of little touches. A helpful guide directed us to an excellent pub for dinner. Breakfast very good. Very highly recommended.

Refurbished in the summer of 2014, the Trevor Arms is a delightful 16th-century pub, a focal point within the village of Marford on the North Welsh Borders equidistant between Chester and Wrexham. Marford is a very attractive area in a picturesque and peaceful setting, covering some 750 acres, where the hills of North Wales meet the vast plains of Cheshire. Distant landmarks that can be seen clearly from Marford include Eaton Hall, Chester Town Hall and Cathedral. Beyond that on the low broad plain, the Peckforton hills form the skyline with the outcrop of rock at Beeston crowned with its castle. The hotel backs on to a site of special scientific interest, Marford Quarry, and is an ideal start point for outdoor activities.
It is pleasant place for taking week end rest with family. Food i really delicious and staff are very friendly... Expecting internet to be in consistency in speed and getting disconnected not sure it happened to me only... overall it is good

I would highly recommend this lovely place with the wonderful staff. Thank you lovely Amanda (if I’m right) on reception who was the kindest person ever and the cleaner who was wonderful as I was getting ready for my interview on that day. Thanks so much And much love. Also, although we were a gay couple, these guys just welcomed us as they should xxx

On check in , at the pub next door, we were told room 6 had no key as previous guest had forgot to leave it ( I note a review on August re room 6 was told same). So young girl had to run back n forth from pub to hotel each time we wanted access or to lock when we went out. I'm usually not bothered about decor, just need somewhere to sleep as out most of the day ( we went to the races) but the rooms were dire. Lampshade thick of dust. Got a splinter in finger from the broken unit. Looks like hallway had newish carpet n fresh painted walls but needs a lot more doing to it to make it acceptable. Asked for toast n jam for breakfast.. they didn't have any jam. The food in the royal Oak (same waitress/ barmaid) was of poor quality. Mussel shells were empty and the few that contained mussels were about 1cm in size. The mini Sunday roast , on Tuesday, consisted of with dried up ham, caramelized onion n green beans. Ordered panini the next time... Cheese, tomato n caramelized onion. There was no tomatoe. The cheese wasn't melted. Spent about £200 between 4of us on our 2 day stay, on food n drink and it was awful but there was no where else to go. Glad we booked hospitality at the race course! If going to Bangor races, book somewhere further afield to stay n get a taxi as the convenient location of this hotel n adjacent royal Oak pub Is not worth it. Owners should be ashamed. Thank you to the young female staff for their efforts working 10am to 11pm between both buildings.

I can't believe how wonderful this place is, every detail is considered even down to a squeegee to wipe the condensation from the bathroom mirror. The rooms are completely hooked up to Alexa and you can even turn the music on at the hot tub from your room. They offer an evening meal with a glass of wine which we we througly enjoyed. We are already talking about planning another trip with some friends to take full advantage of the cabin with the 3D movies . Couldn't have asked for more accommodating hosts either. If you stay here you will love it and if you don't there is something wrong with you . Thank you very much Dave and David for our stay. X
