2 nights couple stay for a wedding

Traditional English pub in a 17th century building on a historic Roman Road. This B&B also serves food all day at the bar or restaurant, but also has a games room, courtyard, quiz nights and much more. B&B is upstairs with 3 rooms. We stayed in the twin room just before a wedding that was just short of a mile away. Nice pleasant walk. Very accommodating host and friendly staff. Great food - one of the biggest and best cooked breakfasts I've had in a long time and would come back for that alone! Room was functional with everything you need. Only feedback would be that a black out curtain may work better over the summer months. Would return when next visiting Kent.

St Crispin Inn

An ancient and picturesque 15th century pub (built 1420), in the delightful village of Worth, Kent, just a mile or so from the mediaeval cinque port of Sandwich, serving great food and real ales and offering Bed and Breakfast accommodation. Very convenient for local Golf Clubs and travel from Dover to Europe. We are open from 11am EVERY DAY.

It so easily could be very nice.

The pub is nice, and the locals and staff are perfectly pleasant. I can't comment on the food because there wasn't any. (No chef, although one did start on our third and last day there, but we ate elsewhere.) It didn't worry us much because we walked our dog along a footpath through the fields into Sandwich for breakfast each day at the excellent Haven Cafe.(Luckily the weather was good.) And we ate out each night. Our room, or cabin as it was called, was a bit shabby (worn and stained carpet) but a good size with comfortable beds and plenty of drawers/hanging space. The bathroom was a good size too. It was a pity that the very small wall-mounted TV only showed one channel! The owner brought in the large TV from the bar the next day and the only place it could go was on a chair in the corner. It worked alright for the late night news, but in the morning and next evening, and on the morning of our departure there was no signal. That didn't really matter, but what did was the state of the area outside our cabin (one in a row of five). There were cigarette ends all over the walk way immediately in front of the doors, plus dead autumn leaves (and this was February), plus bits of paper and plastic - all there when we arrived and all still there when we left, as were the three facemasks in the weeds bordering the driveway. There was also a stack of broken garden furniture on the car parking area and worst of all the pub's 3 big rubbish bins and assorted cans, bottles and other junk facing us across the yard as we came out of our room. The grass in what could have been a nice garden hadn't been cut since probably early September. I really wouldn't recommend staying there.

Not as plush as expected

Reviewed By kws1961

Stayed 2 nights having been to the pub/restaurant before so had high expectations of the room. Had a twin room which was a very large room but that's the only plus Shower room was created in tbe corner with a small cubicle and a curtain that only just reached the tray and a saniflo waste system. Also the basin was a tiny cloakroom size not big enough for a shower room. Seat was wonky but i managed to sort that out being a bathroom installer. Tv was very small no biscuits with the tea making and a very bland looking room cheap pine furniture that almost matched However breakfast was amazing place was convenient with parking Pity as 3 stars isn't enough but 4 is too many Would stay again for the breakfast with lower expectations

Don't bother

We booked this a while back and visited as a group. The owner on arrival was very rude and unpleasant to the arrival party. We wished we could have gone elsewhere, but with a wedding to attend we had little option but to grit our teeth and get on with it. I wouldn't stay again, it wasn't worth the hassle from the management.

What an amazing discovery in a village we know so well!

We were down in Kent for a wedding, and my in-laws' house was packed, so we stayed up the road at Molland Manor and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was fantastic, the breakfasts were fantastic, and the entire atmostphere was beautiful and amazing. You feel both quite isolated but you're very close to the village centre. The house is immaculate but not cold, and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. We were able to have a nice relaxing morning and then go to our in-laws' in the village prior to the drive to the ceremony, so no one was stressed, everyone had hot water, and we had some delicious smoked salmon with our scrambled eggs in the morning. Ash is a lovely village anyway, and I highly recommend a visit -- close to Sandwich, Deal, Dover, and of course Canterbury. Staying at Molland Manor would be a perfect hub if you're exploring areas of Kent but want a luxurious room to come back to.

Awful breakfast. Rooms full of uneccessary furniture. All a bit naff. Very Expensive

Reviewed By T L

We stayed here over Christmas 2021. I appreciate that people have had a tough time of it in the hospitality industry recently, but I recently learnt that the owner asked my wife to change her initial review and that too is unfair. People need to be able to make a fully formed opinion. And Let me start by saying the rooms were clean and the house is beautiful from the outside. It's lovely and central. However, it was more expensive than staying in a hotel, and the breakfast was awful. There was mould in the jam, the cooked breakfast was made using very cheap ingredients. If you are paying over £100 a night, I would expect decent locally sourced meat at the very least. We were the only ones staying and it was over Xmas as I say but I don't expect the breakfast things to be laid out as though they had just come back from the shops and dumped everything on the table. When I mentioned the mould in the jam he just said "Oh that happens all the time"! The room had so much furniture in we could hardly move around and the decor is just not to my taste. The whole house just feels a bit weird and creepy. We were so glad to get to the Bell Hotel for the other nights we were staying. And saved a fortune too!
