The Woodman Inn is a family run pub in the peaceful village of Burneston near Bedale. A Freehouse since 2014. Inside is a cosy bar, a 23 cover restaurant and 3 letting bedrooms. Serving good local ales, fine wines and quality food using locally sourced produce. This is a very welcoming place to everyone who walks through the door. Also welcoming your four legged friends into our bar area!
What a quality place The Woodman is, the minute you arrive you are greeted by friendly staff who cannot do enough for you. The room we had was lovely and very comfortable. We had an evening meal which was superb, and the breakfast was just as impressive, thoroughly enjoyable stay, as I mentioned the staff couldn’t do enough for us, would highly recommend if you are in the area, or fancy a couple of nights away. Thank you The Woodman, we will definitely be back.

17th Century character inn located in the picturesque vilage of Snape, near Bedale, North Yorkshire. Nine stylish, high quality, self-contained en-suite rooms situated in a converted barn across a cobbled courtyard at the rear of the pub. Cosy, traditional bar and tap room area with real open fires, flagged floors and beams serving a range of real ales and extensive wine list. Intimate, candle-lit restaurant serving a mixture of high quality food ranging from pub classics to more contemporary dishes. Extensive outside areas including secluded and secure courtyard area. A warm welcome awaits all our guests, including the four-legged variety.
Superb breakfast. Sausages, from a local butcher, were the best we had ever tasted. Attractive pub. Pleasant staff. The bedroom & bathroom were very dusty in 'less visible areas'. Housekeeping need to be a lot more thorough. 2 out of 3 bathroom lights didn't work & some black grout in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Pretty courtyard garden which was slightly spoilt by dog poo.

We are a large pub in the centre of the beautiful North Yorkshire town of Bedale. We became new landlord and landlady of the Green Dragon September 2021 and since taking over all seven of our guest bedrooms have been fully refurbished to a high standard and are all individually decorated. As well As serving a good range of cask ales and lagers we also serve food seven days a week either in the bar area or in our dining room .
Booked via Booking.com. Met on arrival found no dinner as kitchen closed at 5pm on a Sunday. Breakfast was excellent and very large. Checked the other two rooms on our floor, they were empty of guests and bigger than our room. Very comfortable, if small bed, with great choice of pillows.

Myself and my friend stayed here for a couple of nights recently. The room was very comfortable and clean with plenty of facilities. The breakfast was the best we’ve had and Mandy the owner was extremely helpful and pleasant. We certainly recommend this B&B and we would definitely stay there again. Louise and Anita

A big welcome from Rob and Sara in our traditional style pub offering real ales and good food. Families and pets accomodated for in the bar but not in the rooms. AA rated 3 star
Comfortable and below the average price, but needs a bit of TLC. The breakfast was very good with a big selection of food including a full English. The room we had was clean and beds comfortable. A bit of R&M was required in the en-suite on the shower door and wash basin.

Welcome to The Greyhound Inn. Steve and the team offer a warm and friendly welcome, whether you’re calling in for a drink, something to eat, or to spend the night. The Greyhound is ideally situated for those wishing to visit the Yorkshire Dales while staying in our recently refurbished en-suite accommodation. Bedale, Leyburn, Richmond are on our doorstep and fishing and golf facilities are also close by. We’re also in easy reach of the Yorkshire Moors, East coast and the Lake District. There are plenty of lovely walks on our doorstep, including the Hornby Estate – where guests can see Hornby castle, and its deer herd. Take a look at our website for details of our latest menus, particularly our seasonal specials, which always prove to be a hit. We serve a range of cask ales, wines, and spirits – something for everyone!
10 of us visited yesterday. Steve arranged for us to have our own room & we enjoyed a great meal. Having the garden room to ourselves was fantastic & the service from Steve & the team was top notch. Super friendly and a great choice on the menus.

A friendly, family run, country Bed & Breakfast and holiday cottage set in 24 peaceful acres of fields, woodland and a lake. Ideally located for the Yorkshire Dales and Moors, 10 minutes from the A1 but set well away from roads, so we enjoy a tranquil position, with lovely views and safe parking. Nestled between the market towns of Richmond, Leyburn and Bedale in lower Wensleydale, we keep chickens and rare breed Wensleydale sheep (famous for their dreadlocked, lustrous, fine fleece), which you are welcome to visit during your stay. All our rooms are en-suite and we also have a self-catering holiday cottage / bungalow. Comfortable beds for a good sleep followed by hearty, locally sourced Yorkshire breakfast. There are also an excellent range of local pubs and restaurants within 5 miles.
My wife and I stayed in Elmfield lodge which is the self contained 1 bedroom cottage attached to the main farm house. We had our 4month old baby with us. This is a stunning place. The location is ideal for exploring the dales with Bedale, Richmond, Hawes, Leyburn and many more a short drive away. There are lovely walks right from the doorstep also. There is a lovely lake set in their own woodland. Beautiful. The host Kirsty is absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. We even got to see some of the Wensleydale lambs up close with Kirsty. The cottage itself is lovely and cosy. It’s extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need and was spotlessly clean. The bed was super comfortable and the views over the grazing fields were to die for. We will be back time and time again. 100%.

Traditional country inn overlooking the village green. Open fire and large beer garden. Food served 7 days a week, lunch and dinner. Dogs welcome in the bedrooms and bar. Recently refurbished accommodation and dining area. Good selection of locally brewed real ales.
Village green, cricket, Curlews in season, good beer and food, a Yorkshire welcome. A Dales village with views, quiet but handy for the A1 motorway, close to Masham and Bedale, not far from Ripon, or just wander round without going far. A proper pub with a lively convivial bar atmosphere, dining room, functions room, B&B, garden, view of the village green. Fabulous breakfast.

The spacious garden rooms have been converted to provide accommodation for short stays from one night. All rooms have their own private entrance, a sitting area, a king size bed, en-suite with walk in shower and an enclosed private walled garden. Adjacent to Snape Castle in the picturesque village of Snape.
If you fancy a peaceful getaway you cannot do better than the garden rooms. Absolutely immaculate, well-equipped and could not be better run. Continental breakfast gave plenty of choice, pastries and sweet treats much appreciated. The garden space was also delightful.
