We had a great long weekend on the Isle of Skye trying some mountaineering over 3 days. Our guide Kieran was super knowledgable and was great at pushing us outside of our comfort zones, as well as being an excellent teacher and helping us to learn some new skills. He had a great sense of humour and made you feel relaxed and safe in what can be an exposed environment up on the hills! Connor was also great on the logistical side of things and the trip went really smoothly. Definitely would recommend and will be booking another trip in the future!

Me and a couple of friends choose the Brambling Bus to go around Callander for a day. It was amazing, perfect road trip with a nice playlist. Sara is an amazing driver and Maciek loves history so be ready to know some good facts to bring home with you! They took us to Callander, we had a nice walk by the Bracklinn Falls and then headed back to town to grab some food at a nice local bakery (delicious homemade pies). We also stopped by a couple of their favorites spots (like the huge antique shop). It was an amazing day, I highly recommend traveling with them. They are lovely and enthusiastic people who love sharing their love and knowledge about Scotland. Thanks Maciek and Sara!

Originally booked for May 20, the course was moved to May 21 after an unfortunate incident with a Deer on the Rannoch Moor. This was moved no problem. When the course finally came around we had some unseasonal weather for May. This was overcome no problem as Scott used his very good expertise to work out what we would do on each day to work round the testing weather conditions. Scott was exceptional on constantly giving tips and advise each day as we made our way through my lists of hills. The whole experience was definitely one of my highlights of all my 35 years of hillwalking. Honestly can't thank Scott enough and would highly recommend anyone to use him if they're planning a trip to Skye for the Cuillins. Thank you!

Group walks up Ben Nevis every Wednesday and Sunday from the start of May to the end of September. Your chance to join a group and together with your guide, climb to the summit at 1344 metres (4411 feet). Based in Fort William and only using local guides, you won't just climb Ben Nevis, you'll learn all about the mountain and the wildlife, geology and history it has to offer. The pub at the end of the path is a great place to finish the day with a well earned pint! Please note that for walks in early May winter boots, crampons and walking axes may be required if there is still snow on the mountain. This kit can be hired at an additional cost from Ellis Brigham in Fort William and we will advise guests as early as possible if it will be required.

Inclusions: Experienced mountain leader

Exclusions: Lunch, Transport between your accommodation and the start/finish point, Personal accident insurance

Completed my ML assessment with Abacus Mountain Guides in October 2020 and I was delighted with the quality, standard and value of the entire experience! Mike and Sally are both extremely well equipped guides but much more important than that, at all times, I was made to feel at ease. Going for assessment can be a nerve racking experience but with the style of delivery and the overall character of both of them meant that I was able to show my skills and experience in an open and (relatively) stress-free environment which brought out the best in me, and im sure for the other candidates too. Could not sing their praises higher! And Abacus Mountain Guides will be high on my list for any future skills courses, trainings etc. As you can tell the depth of knowledge that they posses.

Evelyn is an absolutely fantastic tour guide. She really knows her city well and brings the myths and legends to life with her amazing stories. The whole family enjoyed the afternoon (despite the rain, which didn't really matter) and in fact it was the highlight of our weekend in Edinburgh. I would thoroughly recommend the myths and legends tour with Evelyn to anybody who is planning a visit to this really interesting city.
