A holiday in Norfolk is not a glamorous break. While the Norfolk Broads of East Anglia are a beautiful part of the UK, they represent a relaxing rural getaway rather than a high-powered city-break. Although its reputation is mostly rural, with people associating the county mostly with the wetlands of the Norfolk Broads, there are also towns such as Norwich and King's Lynn to visit, both of which provide shopping opportunities, nightlife and entertainment. Norfolk also contains a large stretch of coastline, and seaside destinations such as Cromer and Great Yearmouth mean there are great beaches to be found as well. Many areas of the Norfolk Broads and the coastal region are sites of outstanding natural beauty, and are also protected as bird reserves, so take a pair of binoculars on holiday. There are also popular wildlife attractions such as Banham Zoo, with a great collection of big cats, and Great Yarmouth's Sea Life Centre, one of the biggest of its kind in the country, complete with tropical sharks and conger eels. And of course, if any of your family are interested in boating, you'll need to rent a boat and explore the waterways of the Broads themselves!

Originally first opened in 1872 making it the World's oldest aquarium, this is a great place to visit whatever your age, solo, as a couple or as a family to spend some time learning about all the different species of fish & marine life, the staff are friendly & very knowledgeable to ask any questions you may have, there is a small cafe for refreshments & a souvenir shop to browse around & purchase various keepsakes. You must book a timeslot online prior to arrival, then have your temperature taken before being allowed entry, I booked a 2.15 pm visit not realising that they now close at 3pm which is why I never got to see the boat that several people have mentioned, nor sharks swimming over my head as some areas were closed off, the overhead tunnel I was really looking forward to as that was the main reason I booked as it sounded amazing, that's probably why I got around it all in less than an hour, I can't wait to return once life returns back to normal or in season when everything will be in full swing.

There are lots of Christmas Wreath workshops to choose from in Norfolk but many cater for groups of 10-25 giving you very little 1-2-1 time to learn and relax. I limit capacity to just 4 guests and make your experience my priority - there's no "keeping up" I relax at your pace and guide you step by step. You will be hosted in a beautiful warm thatched cottage, thatched by a local Master Thatcher! Under the oak beams we will relax to sip our hot chocolate and create our wreaths with a little seasonal music to get us in the mood. The cottage will be fully dressed for Christmas and I am happy for you to take as many photos as you would like, it's often described as a chocolate box cottage on the coast! Why not enjoy a visit to our award winning beach just seconds away from the cottage, or a walk to the local seal colony or medieval barn, it's a beautiful part of the country to explore. If you would like to book lunch/dinner nearby I am happy to make recommendations.
Inclusions: Coffee and/or Tea, Snacks, All wreath materials and dressing, and tools (cutters, wire, ring etc) and an apron.
Exclusions: Private transportation

The History and Hostelries walking tour of Norwich is relaxed (2/3 hours at the group's desired pace) and informative. Norwich is compact, so no hiking boots, and no flasks of tea either - drinks are included in your ticket price! Find out how Norwich has developed over 2000 years and the contributions it has made to the world...and discover some of our many famous characters - people like Boudicca, William the Conqueror, Admiral Lord Nelson...and of course Alan Partridge! Starting with a sociable drink, we'll talk of Norwich's early days and it's development up to the arrival of the Normans. Initial thirst quenched, we move on to the old city and see what the French invaders did...followed by a millennium of revolt, refugees, persecution, war... sheep, shoes, chocolate and canaries! And of course brewing, an important element of Norwich's history. We'll stop off at a couple of notable pubs to hear about what CAMRA calls "The City of Beer". What better welcome to our Fine City?
Inclusions: We visit a small number of notable/historic pubs en route where drinks are included in the tour
