Bluff Dwellers Cave is decorated with stalactites, stalagmites, draperies, saw tooth drapes, flowstone, cave popcorn, cave coral, and cave sponge and more. Your tour guide will show you the beautiful calcite formations that were delicately formed over thousands of years, unhampered by the chaotic life of the surface world. Come enjoy the tranquility of cave life, where geology takes time to get everything just right. Guided tour is 1 hour long. Gem panning, museum and gift shop on premises. Last tour is 30 minutes before close.
We spelunked this cave on a cold afternoon. It was nice because the cave was warm. Cave tour is about 45 min to an hour. Cave is kind pretty and has some interesting points. Guide was informative and polite.

My car club just held our 20th anniversary event here. It was pretty hard to believe this place was just recently underwater and flooded out with how nice all the rebuilding work was. Major props to the staff and repair guys there for that! Everyone...MoreGlad you enjoyed your stay! It was a fun event to host! See you for Sparks!

We recently visited Bluff Dwellers Caverns in Noel, MO and noticed this park on the drive up from Arkansas. The playground reminded me of the ones I enjoyed as a child, which seem to have all been replaced with plastic ones, I loved the idea of my boys enjoying the simple playthings that I once loved. We made a mental note of the park and decided to drive back to enjoy our picnic lunch and let our kids play on the merry-go-round! They have quite a few picnic areas and tables, various recreation options, the springs and a creek to explore. I wish we would have had more time, because the kids were having a blast and the baseball field would have been perfect for flying a kite! In warmer weather my boys would have loved to play in the creek and explore the rocks and ruins that we saw. It looked like they had a little museum on site as well that is open on the weekends.

"If our guests are gonna die in a tornado in a concrete bathroom, then god damn it, we are too" - Mick Myers, reenacting the amazing management of Two Sons Floats.
Two Sons is the best float in Noel. Their guys bend over backwards to make sure their guests are happy. They continuously checked on us during horrendous weather this weekend. Thursday night was a tornado a mile a way at 1AM. Will and his guys came down to get us in the shelter and hung there with us to make sure we were good. Then Friday the campground got hit with hours and hours of rain, but there was Will and Ashley there to take care of us again.
My friends and I have been traveling down to The Elk for over a decade now to do our annual vacation there, and Two Sons has been by far the best out of all the floats/camps in the entire town.
The campground itself is quiet and right on the river. It's a pretty place. 5 stars.
Thanks, Will, from the KC crew

Elk River snakes its way through Southwest Missouri and is the biggest attraction in Noel. You can bring your own canoe, swim gear, etc., and use it for free, or you can rent canoes from one of many local vendors who will also supply transportation if one of your party doesn't want to do the extra drive.
What my dad did on some of our trips was have someone with a second car help out, so we didn't have to pay for a canoe plus bus ride back, but if you only have one vehicle, you can use the services.
Dad's method: Drive to where we planned to stop. Leave one car there. Drive back to starting point, park car and launch the canoe(s) etc. Once we got to our destination, the car was there so someone could drive back, get the main car, and you can imagine the rest.
The point of reviewing the river itself is to remind everyone that Elk River is free. There are many free launch points. You can find them easily once you get to Noel.

The Antique Flea, next door to the Noel Post Office, is a wonderful little place, a combination of flea market and cafe. When I lived in Noel in 2014, it was my favorite food stop. I loved every bite, and really enjoyed the fact that the sweet iced tea was 50 cents for all I could drink, and I did my best to get my money's worth.
They even started frying me up some onions to go with my sandwich. Of everything that I enjoyed in Missouri, they are the place i miss the most.
I highly recommend this little family-run cafe. I bet they'd still remember me 18 months later.

There are 3-4 log cabins and a bunkhouse at this location. There is also a small pool for kids (or big kids too) between the bunkhouse and the cabins. The river is viewable from most spots throughout the grounds. There were also a few places for campers, but space is fairly limited.
As far as activities go, they did have kayaks and rafts for floating the river. There was also a gazebo area and a sand volleyball spot.
Just like any outdoor space, you might want to bring along some bug spray - gnats and mosquitoes were hanging around.
There isn't much as far as shopping nearby either; a Family Dollar within about 10 miles, but that was about it.
