This makes a lovely day trip out of Helsinki. The houses in the compound, designed by Eliel Saarinen, father of Eero, and the partners in his architectural practice. The buildings and their interiors are in the Finnish arts & craft style, reminiscent of Jugenstihl. Aside from the interest in architecture and design, the houses are located in a stunning location in a forest above a lake outside Helsinki. You can walk down to the lakeshore (there are both steps and a winding path) - the walk back up is pretty steep and you'll need to leave time to do it. As much as anything, the location epitomises Finland with its birch Forests & lakes. There is a nice little café on the site.

This stone church was first built in the 14th century. It has ever since gone through several episodes but parts of the original church are still there. The church was taken into use again in 1959 after Russians left from Porkkala. While the church is very nice, the same cannot be said about the city of Kirkkonummi built around the church-surroundings are in fact horrible and makes one wonder who on earth let that happen.

Hirsala Golf are situated in Kirkkonummi less than 30 min drive west from the centre of Helsinki, the capital of Finland. The course lies in the peace of a forrest and is designed by David Jones. It is a challenging GEO-certified 18 hole par 72, measuring up to 6.265 metres from the backtee. Hirsala Golf were opened in 2007.
I really enjoyed this golf course despite playing one of my worst rounds of the year. The setting is beautiful with natural terrain dominating one nine after a relatively flat and open other 9. Reminded me of courses in Maine or Canada. Helped by the fact that it was an absolutely stunner of a day weather-wise but still a solid gold course that I'd play again.

I have visited a number of Golf facilities in Finland and was positively impressed by Peuramaa Golf.
The parking is wide and well marked.
The Club house is adequately sized and well taken care of.
Restaurant and bar offer food and drinks at all time during opening hours.
The Caddiemaster's counter beside a small golf accessories sales point is very close to the starting tees of the two 18 holes courses. Caddiemaster's office is well organised and supportive.
Beside the 2 main courses it also exists a 9 holes/ par 3 course with own registration office also in charge for the driving range.
The main courses are designed to develop in parallel but are well divided by small forestry and landscape elements and thus almost never interfere with each other.
Vanha Peura is slightly less difficult than Porkkala which presents some more challenging areas due to narrow passes among well exploited hazards.
Forestry landscapes are just beatiful.

Porkkala peninsula is famous for its history (after second world war this area was under Soviet Union to 1956) and nature. This place is also the narrowest point on Baltic Sea between Finland and Estonia. It is only 36km to nearest landmark of Estonia. That is probably the biggest reason why bird-lovers likes this place so much. It has a key position when bird migrition is on.
Pampskatan is a nature reserve. You will find couple fireplaces and dry toilets. It is allowed to camp for short time. Excellen enviroment if you like sea views, birds and rocky areas. Beware of slippery rock and adders.
Only negative thing is actually how to get there. You need a car. Driving time from the capitol Helsinki is about 45-60 minutes and the road is very narrow and tortuous.
Take good time and nice lunchbox with you and your friends, this is an excellent place for high experience picnic places.

Welcome to Finland's number one paintball park. 5 different fields to play on. Activity fore the whole family. Up to 8 years old can play. Cafe an cool drinks available. Visit and explore the beautiful countryside only 20 min drive from capital Helsinki. Also other activity's as super sumo wrestling and Human fuse ball game.
