The center lies in the middle of Jessheim city center, 40 kilometers north of Oslo, 10 minutes from Oslo Airport and 3 minutes from the highway E6. With a population of 36 000, Ullensaker is the fastest growing municipality of Norway. Jessheim is, with 17 300 inhabitants, the biggest city of Akershus (as of September 2013) and the regional center of Øvre Romerike. Jessheim Storsenter has 151 shops and eateries, and the selection within fashion and sports is especially varied. Situated in the centre of Jessheim, the center has established many different eateries, several of which have their own outdoors serving which means that their opening hours might stretch beyond those of the center. This is part of the creation of a vibrant city.
When I moved to this area, i had no idea that there was a very large shopping center right in the middle of downtown. from Storgata (Main road) all you see, really, are the old houses. But behind them there is a very large mall. The newest addition has one mega sports store and one mega electric/electronic store. There are many shoe stores, apparel/clothing, plus an assortment of kitchen and interior stores. Add goldsmiths, bakery, coffee shops, drug stores and book stores, and you have everything you need, apart from lumber. But that can be found other places within this small town. Along Storgata, with entrances both from the road and from the mall there are plenty of restaurants, ranging from cheap burgers and pizza to good steak houses, and dinners served by the table, and everything between. Plentiful free parking for 2-3 hours, and some parking at reasonable prices. It shows that the mall has been built between and through several older houses, so it is possible to "get lost" the first times as the walkways are crooked, circling, ad straight. However, there is never a long distance to one of the many entries where you can get your bearings quickly. With this mall close by there is no need to go to Oslo or Lillestrøm for shopping!
