We first went to the Daiquiri Stop a few years before Katrina....at the time, it was on Esplanade and we thought we were seeing things when, during our first trip to New Orleans, we thought we were seeing things when we saw a "drive-thru daiquiri stand"! We drove thru, asked the counter girl what she'd recommend - she said the "190 and Jungle Juice" was probably the most-popular. So that's what we got, and about 4 hours later, while flying back home, it caught up with me and I chewed the pilot out because he was flying the plane sideways and up and down....it was me after that drink finally caught up with me! The Esplanade location has since closed, but the location on Citrus and Dickory is still open...and it is still our favorite place and very first stop any time we come to town! Mary is excellent even though she's only there on the weekends. But she sure remembers us and knows exactly what we want when we drive on through. We'd highly recommend anything at all from the Daiquiri Stop, but still, to this day, our every-night we're in town favorite is the 190 & Jungle Juice.
