secluded, quiet, and well maintained. Lots of wonderful artifacts in the museum and an informative movie. The movie is about 20 minutes long and plays in a loop, so it is easy to just go in and watch.

Who knew the confederate soldiers and union soldiers built a colony from scratch and lived happily ever after? Yes...that's really the story of the creation of the Fitzgerald, GA, and this museum tells it well. What an interesting town (the wild chickens running around the actual town are colorful). We stayed in Fitzgerald for a few days, found a great AirBnB there, and this museum was one of the highlights of our stay. Our host at the museum was a civil war re-enactor, extremely nice and helpful and shared a lot of local tips on where to eat as well as the history of the area (thank you, sir!). Thumbs up.
