Focus on Alabama's regional history through exhibited artifacts, photographs, manuscripts and films.
We really enjoyed our visit here. After a brief introduction from a local volunteer we were free to wander round the museum which had exhibits on the courthouse, Harper Lee and Truman Capote. We then were able to look round the courtroom itself which has been beautifully preserved and is atmospheric.
Bargain at $5pp and would strongly recommend a visit.

It's incredible what Hank did in his short 29-year lifetime. He was one of the greatest songwriters ever. He had a charisma and magnetism that could not be explained. When he sang at the Grand Ole Opry, he had to be the closer because anyone that performed after him would be booed off the stage. At the Opry, which is a radio program with a strict schedule, there are never encores. But on Hank's first visit there, he had to perform seven encores because they could not quieten the crowd.
This is a home that Hank lived in for four years as a child. There in Georgiana, he learned how to play guitar from a black street musician named Rufus Payne. Once again, what would we do without the influence of black culture and music?
Miss Leona is one of the curators. Since they opened around 25 years ago, they have amassed a great collection of Hank material. Leona knows everything imaginable about Hank. For example, it is only a rumor that Hank could not read and write music. Also, I never knew that Hank had spinal bifida. I just thought he had a bad back. This led his drinking and abuse of painkillers, which led to his untimely passing.
Anything related to Hank Williams is pretty much automatic five stars. Especially this place.

We were certainly surprised to find this beautiful Corp. of Engineers campground at the end of a rural road. Beautiful dose not describe how awesome this place is. You are right on the river and Isaac Creek. Quite a few rentals are on the water. The bath house was clean but lacked in privacy in the shower area.
The children will love the numerous playgrounds around the park. The park road is large enough that you can safely ride your bike and allow traffic to pass. You can also find two boat launches right on the property. One allows for above the Claiborne dam and the other below. We also noticed that you can bow hunt with a permit on the property.
Your camp had lots of room so you did not feel like you were right on top of your neighbors. They had several shelter with rocking chairs so you could just plop down and read a book. We will certainly come back here.

Went here in the summer for my nephews birthday party. The package included masks, guns, and paintballs. They had about 4 different courses we were able to play on. We were mostly all first timers and they explained perfectly how to play.

My family and I stayed a few nights in the trailers they have at the park. For fema trailers, they were pretty nice. The only issue th at we had is that while taking showers the water would go up over the edge of the shower floor and flood the bathroom! Thank god we brought lots of towels! We were told the reason it happens is because they are handicapped accessible and the trailers are starting to become unlevel. The receptionist said they need repairs. But other than the shower mishap the park itself was really nice. They have grills and firepits, a playground for kids, rowboats and pedal boats and restrooms. A snack machine is located inside the restroom building. *A helpful tip*, if you're staying in the trailers they don't supply any toiletries or linens and the don't have a tv, you have to bring everything you need from home, but there is a full size fridge and microwave and a stove.

An art gallery featuring the works of 85 local, national and international artist.
This art gallery is quite a gem for such a small, impoverished Southern town. Many local Southeastern artists, as well as some others. Mary McKinley is particular about the artists she will accept and has an excellent collection! Easy access off I-65. Great stop between Mobile and Montgomery while travelling. Close to interstate. Worth the trip!

This is the second time I have been here. My first time was in November of 2011. The park is on the Big Escambia Creek where Tubing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Zip Lines, Horse Trails, Birding and more are available for your pleasure. Day visits, tent and rv camping are available also. A lake has been built and over a million Long Needle Pine seedlings have been planted since my visit in 2011. Maintaining the restroom facilities could improve but construction and growth have kept the staff very busy. I will stop in again in another year or so to see their continued growth.
