Nestled in the canyon of Dunsmuir, with Mt Shasta soaring just a few miles to the North along I-5, is The Sacred Well: a magical shop filled with crystals, natural beauty products, coffee, tea, and treasures. Proprietors Yeshe and Albert have created a warm, inviting space of art, community, and healing. If you are visiting Mt Shasta, or anywhere in Siskiyou County, make The Sacred Well a stop along your way. Sip a coffee blended with traditional medicinal mushrooms like cordyceps, chaga, and lion's mane while you browse the crystals, candles, books, jewelry, and potions on the shelves. Or sit down for a tarot reading with Yeshe, a gifted intuitive who has over 15 years of experience as a professional psychic. Enjoy the art on the walls, and don't miss the outdoor mural and statue garden in the back of the building. While you are in town, you'll be sure to notice how friendly, charming, and fun the town of Dunsmuir is. Be sure to check out the local restaurants!

Pretty cool water falls. Hike in was easy for the most part, the rocks along side the railroad tracks make walking a little challenging. Taking photos was a little challenging as well as due to the large crowd of people there.

Whether you plan to stay in the area or not, do yourself a favor and hop off I-5 at Siskiyou Ave in Dunsmuir. Park in the gravel lot across from the water bottling plant and head into the cool park. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the tables with a view of Mt Shasta, or hike down to the falls directly. You can walk behind the falls and along a trail to a sweet spot overlooking the Sacramento River. Beautiful and peaceful.

We were leaving Hedge Creek Falls when a nice city worker asked if we had visited the Botanical Gardens yet and gave us directions. On our way back to our hotel later in the day we decided to stop and check it out. It was a hidden gem with a river running through it and lush green plants and trees covering the hillside. We had the park almost to ourselves as there were only a handful of people sitting near the river. This park is located a short drive off hwy. 5 and is also near Hedge Creek Falls if you want to visit them both, neither takes very much time. PS: If your hungry stop at Yaks just a couple of doors down the street for a massive, killer burger.
