Vancouver was founded as “Gastown” by an Englishman with a penchant for beer and storytelling. Today Gastown is a historic section of the Canadian metropolis, and the lively pubs still reflect the area’s former status as a sort of community drinking center. The city’s forests, grand parks, and impressive suspension bridge beckon travelers to explore them, as do the city’s shops and museums. Relive the glory of the 2010 Winter Games with visits to Olympic venues and the marvelous Olympic Cauldron.

Built in 1906, the Firehall building functioned as Vancouver's No. 1 Firehall and the first motorized Firehall until 1975 when the Firemen moved out and the arts moved in. After a variety of tenants the Firehall Theatre Society was formed in 1982 and currently operates as one of the busiest venues in Vancouver.

In the spring of 2013, three long-time friends with a passion for great beer dove head first into crafting their own quality-driven recipes - while having too much fun throughout the process Postmark Brewing was born. With a work hard / play hard mentality Postmark Brewing boasts a lineup of sessionable craft beers that cater to the BC leisure + activity lifestyle.
A super sampling of one of Vancouver’s best craft beer AND wineries. Food looked very good. We were in for a one and done pint/glass so we did not sample the food. Staff were great, courteous and provided a historical account of the building. First incarnation was a World War II airplane propeller plant. Check it out.

Housed in Vancouver's former city morgue, this museum displays the history of crime and law enforcement in Vancouver. Exhibits include historical crimes, tools for scientific (forensic) investigation and more.
It is very interesting and educational. I live here and found out things that I never knew about. Worth while going to and if you have the time, take in a walking tour. That one walking tour was an eye opener. I like to go on the other walking tours however someday.
