I have been purchased wine from this winery for more than ten years. The winery is still run by the original family which has been resident in Cocconato for almost 400 years. Don’t expect anything huge, we are talking about quality, not industrial production. All the wines come from their own vineyards and every visitor is welcomed to visit the premises. Amongst some famous ones, it is worth to be highlighted that here you can find some exclusive Barbera’s (ask for the Stradivario label) and the local Albarossa (named Rosingana from the hamlet where the vinegar is planted). A recently renewed shop offers space for multi sensorial experiences. In fact there is a specific room dedicated to Cocchi products (yes, Bava took over and revamped the name of the world famous Barolo Chinato and Vermouth Cocchi) where bartenders and mixologists can see, touch and smell the original spices used for the aromatized Cocchi wines. Wines explanation and possible food matings and tasting is led by a young professional sommelier which is definitely helpful for people like me who are not wine experts. Wine publications can be found here as well. Well done Bava family. P.S.: I don’t support drink and drive, but nearby you can find excellent B&B and great local restaurants where you can keep enjoying the local delicacies...... and drinking wine of course
