Gorgeously preserved community of Fort Vluff. The cabins are furnished with artifacts from the descendants who still live nearby. There are short audio clips to inform you of the inhabitants of each cabin. They give a real, insight into the hardship and fortitude these missionaries encountered. I would urge you to visit the Fort, get to know a little about the people, and then visit the cemetery above the town, where many are buried. To do both, is immensely moving and unforgettable.
The centre of the place is a little cluttered, and another building is under construction. I think too much. The centre needs to breathe a little.
I was there in late Feb, late afternoon, with beautiful late winter sun. Quite magical.

My husband and I had an excellent time hiking leprechaun canyon! The guides we're extremely knowledgeable and encouraging. Lunch was included too! They did a great job explaining how to get through each hard point! Super grateful for them and our awesome experience! We will be returning! As you go south from Bluff about 4 miles on the left is a sign for Sand Island. No mention of Petroglyphs (owner of Desert Rose pointed us in the direction). Very impressive, but a shame that some idiots think its fun to try to outdo the work of others. Such modern-day vandalism should be severely punished

This is a wonderful area with fantastic views. Other reviewers have commented about its quietness, and we have to say that we saw nobody else when we visited this area. A really good spot for hiking.

Twin Rocks Trading Post in Bluff, Utah. Quality Native American and Southwest Art!
This is a good trading post situated immediately below the towering cliffs that surround the town of Bluff. Its called Twin Rocks because of the lovely rock formations immediately behind the store. As well as the trading post, there is also an adjacent café.

If you and your family enjoy learning about history, this is a lovely, tranquil spot for some quiet reflection on western history and settlement and the lives of settlers. The cemetery, which is still in use, has been in use since Bluff's founding. If you also visit the Bluff Fort visitors' center, you'll have a good sense of the lives and history of Bluff's LDS inhabitants. There is no fee.

Just once out with Vaughn Hedenfled, the chief guide and owner Far Out Expeditions and I was hooked. His 6-day backpacking trip into the lower Grand Gulch sold me on his experience, knowledge, skills as a guide and overall nice guy. He kept things exciting all the time. I felt he was in complete control even when rain threatened to wash out the expedition. He also has a large (12-bed) clean, guesthouse which he rents for competitive rates. I highly recommend this company for day trips or multi-day backpacking trips. The high cost is worth it, especially for those not familiar with the area of Bluff, SE Utah.

If you want to experience Ansazi Cliff Dwelling without crowds, without guides and without fences - this is the place! A little harder to get to as the road is not signed and you need to carefully follow the itinerary through dirt roads (still passable for normal cars) and then find your way how to climb up the huge alcove. Needs a little physical fitness to actually reach the ruins (short, steep uphill climb), but it's just spectacular.
Rock alcove is wide and gives great views of San Juan river. You can walk outside and inside the ruins - of course being careful and trying to not touch them too much or leave an traces.
Beautiful and impressive place to visit.
