The Blairstown Museum is housed in a 19th century building known as the last remaining structure of "Roy's Row". The Museum is the only general history and cultural museum for the Township of Blairstown. Our collections help us to interpret Blairstown history through permanent and changing exhibits and to educate the public about Blairstown history through programs, resource materials and events.
I had the Blairstown Museum on my bucket list of museums to visit and I was not disappointed. The museum is actually two different museums in one. The first one is a historical museum dealing with the history the community of Blairstown and exhibits deal with the Blair family and its connection to the Scribner Publishing family of New York, a local resident who had worked on the railroads in Cuba and a small exhibition on Victorian furniture. The Second Museum across the street is a "Friday the 13th" museum dealing with the history of the movie franchise. The original film was shot here in 1979. I broke the visit up into two days since the museum is only open right now on Fridays and Saturdays. The first day I went I visited the smaller museum and the displays they had out. I want to point out this is a 501C3 non-profit running the museum not the town of Blairstown, who want to have nothing to do with the movie. The owners who run this, Janette and Frank, are new residents to Blairstown and have adopted the town as their own and take pride in the town's history. The museum is starting small and collection artifacts from the community and documenting the history of the town. The Friday the 13th exhibition museum part is interesting as they are collecting memorabilia from the original film and films that follow. They have the original diner signs from the diner used in the one scene in the film and the original stools from the luncheonette from the scene with Robbie Morgan. They have had Ari Lehman, who was the original Jason and Robbie Morgan, who played Annie in the film visit the museum for special events and there of pictures of them in the museum. Frank and Janette are still building the collections but they are doing a good job with the museum and you can see both museums in one afternoon and still have time to walk around the town that "Friday the 13th" made famous. Don't forget to visit the diner that was in the film that is on the next block (the food is very good) and talk a walk under the Water building past the waterfall where the opening scene was shot. The museum is still growing and it is worth the trip out to Blairstown.

I started out as a client, looking for my first horse. Man oh man I fell in love with all their horses! I couldn’t just pick one so I started working as a trail guide to get to know all of them. I bought my first horse right before I started and I made the decision of not buying one from top view riding ranch, and not because I work there now am I saying this..but I should have bought one from top view. Janet is honest and up front and she won’t let you down. I now have 2 top view riding ranch horses joining my horses and couldn’t have been happier with them. When buying or riding you want to know all you can about the horse you are getting on, and you want to be able to trust your horse. Here at top view we take pride in our horses, and they always come first. In the retail world the “customer is always right” in the horse world “the horse is always right”. Whether you come for a ride or come to buy we will match you up with the right horse so you have a safe and fun time.
