The hot 50m pool was amazing. People floating on noodles, chatting, an occasional swimmer. Add to that the hot spa, friendly people and blue skies you have a recipe for pleasure and relaxation. I am sure it would be wonderful in the rain too. Small fee to enter. Drive or easy walk from town centre.

A really great insight to the town's history & even Australia's history. The only original one left & totally worth a visit. It made it even more special that our tour guide was someone who actually worked there when it was fully operational back in the day. The only thing I found odd was that there wasn't any wool or thing made from wool to purchase in the shop. Regardless, the main attraction is amazing & a must do. Thank you.

Ram Park's buildings and displays are designed to inspire residents of Blackall and visitors to the region to reflect on the present and imagine the future, through active engagement with the past. While visiting Ram Park, stop in at the Blackall Visitor Information Centre and pick up some brochures for your journey.
We stopped in Blackall for the night not really expecting too much. $8 campsite in town was perfect. We then got a friendly visit from Stewie from the information centre inviting us to see his show over the road at the ram park at 10am. We are so glad we took up his lovely offer. We’d been to the Stockmans hall of fame and waltzing Matilda museum in the days prior but we both thought this was better and it was free! There is a donation box in the front building, so don’t miss that. Stewie was such a fantastic host and tour guide and a wealth of knowledge. We will definitely recommend it to others and do our best to come back one day soon and ask a million more questions to Stewie, a third generation local & former drover from Blackall. We learnt more there in a couple of hours than we did at both of the last museums purely due to the personal nature of the tour and hands on and inclusive approach. Thanks again Stewie & offsider (Scott I think, sorry if that’s wrong - also very informative thank you)

Hackie Howe - I believe he still holds the world record for the amount of sheep he sheared in one day. Blackall, the town is full of statues, Murals and sculptures.

This is a MUST see in Blackall - and to go "Beyond the Black Stump" There is information there which explains why it was used and it's importance to the area.
Even though not in the main street of town, the family run Union Hotel is a great outback Aussie pub with heaps of history. The pub was established in 1912 in its current location on Coronation Dr in Blackall and has a lot of history within the Barcoo Region, many of which you will find detailed on the walls of the pub. The pub offers a bottle shop, main bar, pool /room , dining & beer garden.
