This is an easy walk up to the top with a very scenic view of the lake and the surrounding areas. The trail is wide and not steep at all and fairly short.

A series of falls that are definitely off the beaten path. First, the location in TripAdvisor is wrong. These falls are up near Thomas Rock Scenic Overlook. From Marquette, take 550 north to 510. When 510 meets AAA, stay on 510. It will turn into a gravel/dirt road. Stay on that for about 6.5 miles. There is a bridge and then a small area to park. Once there, the trail follows the river and is pretty well-marked and there are actual bridges over small tributaries to the river. There are a trio of falls that are beautiful. I really enjoyed this hike because there were no large groups and I could really enjoy the peace and scenery.

Just a family style park where you can get to know many friends. Only 25 miles North of Marquette which is now one of the top cities in the United States to live in.

The Lumberjack Tavern is more than just a fun place to grab a drink and a bite to eat, it’s a slice of local history and popular culture. The Tavern was first opened in 1938 as Rose’s Tavern, as was renamed Lumberjack Tavern as a nod to the area’s logging history and the famous lumberjacks. In 1952, it was the site of a famous murder, which inspired the award-winning film Anatomy of a Murder starring Jimmy Stewart. Jeff Daniel’s favorite bar in the UP, the Lumberjack also inspired the Big Bay Shuffle. Maybe you can catch owner Jack who will regale with you stories of the bar and Big Bay history. Today, you can enjoy a taste of UP craft beer, burgers, hand-cut fries, house-made pizza, and other seasonal menu items. The Lumberjack also has onsite accommodations and an outdoor beer garden. We are open for private parties, wedding receptions and other festive gatherings. Come in, grab a drink and see the outline of the body from the real-life crime scene.
We stopped here for lunch and a drink. Very interesting place, good sandwich and beer! Very friendly people. Excellent photos and info on the "Anatomy of a Murder" movie. FUN.
