Called Ryan, and explained what type of kayak trip we were wanting to do. He was great. Next morning met Jeff at store and he took us out kayaking. He was great at showing us things along the way. We kayaked about 4.1 miles, 2.5 hours. We saw dolphins, manatees and several birds and fish. Had a great day. I'd reccomend them. Well be back! Ps- great store too, alot of watersprting products. This is such a fun local spot to check out! Their soft serve orange ice cream is so good!! (Cash only) And the inside store which is open during the winter months has so much to offer! They sell large bundles of local oranges and grapefruits, fresh squeezed juice, local produce, and lots of fun little souvenirs!! Always a highlight when we stop by!

This beach is a gorgeous spot and even better one can go at sunset with a glass of wine and watch the sun disappear while listening and possibly dancing to the beat of the DRUMS....drive down Casey Key for an experience of extra $$ housing!

The Legacy Rail is a “rails to trails” bicycling, and walking trail that runs from southern Sarasota to Shamrock Park in Venice. The trail is about 12 miles long and is wide enough to accommodate two way traffic (center markings in place). There are shelters several places along the trail and there are a few parks with facilities adjacent to the trail in Venice. There are a couple of really nice biking bridges that span busy roadways and water ways. There is also access to Oscar Scherer State Park from the trail (pay for access). There are several free parking lots to park while loading & unloading bicycles. (Get the trail map at Shamrock Park, the Venice Chamber of Commerce or other locations) The south end of the park is adjacent to the Inter-Coastal Waterway so you can wave to the boats that pass in the water. One bridge was recently built for the trail traffic and one bridge spans a body of water that says it is a manatee area ( we did not see any manatees - darn it). The south terminus of the trail is in Shamrock Park. A very nice park with facilities that get their own review. There are some rude riders who do not announce their presence and who ride too fast for a leisure bicycle and pedestrian trail. You find those kind of jerks on every bike trail. A very nice and pleasant bicycle and walking trail.
