It’s got many attractions, lots of fish and can hunt on parts of it for deer.many public access points for boating, fishing from shore, kayaking, etc. plus there’s dolphins, and they give you opportunities to photograph them riding your bow. Black bears can be sighted in area around black water, I saw one running from trash can at night on ward basin.

Blackwater Heritage State Trail

Reviewed By Miltoflorida - Milton, United States

In the past 6 years I have done more than 15,000 miles on this 10-mile long trail and never got tired of it's ever seasonal changing beauty - especially if one bikes farther out north and north-east into the surrounding farming country with it's corn- peanut- and cotton fields. The trail itself is very well maintained by 3 very dedicated State Park workers. If you meet them somewhere along the trail, stop and tell them how much you appreciate their maintaining a trail, that a lot of more affluent communities would be proud of - but just do not have. So mostly used during the week by bikers, the trail attracts on weekend lots of families, many from towns others than Milton
