Petoskey, sitting on the shores of Lake Michigan, has been a popular vacation spot for decades. Earnest Hemingway spent the first 18 summers of his life sailing and fishing on nearby Walloon Lake, and the area features prominently in several of his stories. The Little Traverse History Museum shows how the Petoskey area was a formative influence on young Hemingway. The area is also a well known winter destination, with three popular ski resorts featuring everything from dog sled rides to tubing.

We’ll chauffeur you to several wineries to taste wines unique to our region. Gingerbread cottages with flower-filled window boxes built in the 1880s, and streets shaded by tall leafy trees, take you back to a simpler time. There are concerts and plays to attend in the spacious auditorium in the heart of Bay View. Enjoy hiking trails, tennis courts, swimming and sailing in Little Traverse Bay. Browse in the well-stocked library, pick up your mail at the old fashioned post office, while munching on freshly baked pastries. The four of us had a pleasant afternoon outside sampling our cider flights. It wasn't busy so we could take our time studying the board and carefully choosing our pours. My favorite was the Apple Blueberry. It was a perfect outing for a fall day. Next time, I will bring some snacks to share.

Situated on the East end of Little Traverse bay, the Petoskey State Park is one of the most amazing beachfront areas in the Great Lakes. It's like a smaller version of Holland State Park. Miles of sandy beach, amazing water, a really nice concession stand, the ability to bring your own picnic and beverages - just wow. We visit at least a few times a summer to "get away" from it all because it is so relaxing. Highly recommend! 5 stars

My Husband and I were taking another couple on a Northern Michigan Tour and stopped at one of our favorite places: Kilwins in Petoskey. We shopped and had ice cream. Later I realized I had lost a necklace given to me as a gift. We backtracked the places we visited including Kilwins. We didn’t find the lost jewelry. Leaving our name and number. We headed home feeling the loss. The next day we received a call that Kilwins Manager, Scott found the necklace in the parking lot. He mailed it to our home. We received the package the next day and Scott even included some chocolate to sweeten the recover. A big thanks to Scott and Kilwins Staff. Your thoughtfulness and assistance are a big reason we always enjoy your store and showroom. We will always make it a stop when we travel north.

Went to 3 above average restaurants. Very prosperous downtown, fun to walk, shops, parks. Also had a farmers' market.

We visited on New Years Eve 2020 for an early dinner and were not disappointed. We reserved a fire pit area and had beers and a light dinner and everything was very good. Would probably visit again when in the Petoskey area. Nice atmosphere too even during the winter.
