Rowlee is a boutique producer of cool climate wines located in Orange, New South Wales. Our tasting room is open everyday between 11am and 5pm for tastings and wine sales. Wines are also available for purchase by the glass or bottle to enjoy on the deck overlooking the vineyard.
On a beautiful winter’s day we visited Rowlee Wines on a quest for the divine Arneis. We had a 1pm booking for tasting, and the awesome Natasha welcomed us to the cellar door. It’s a great spot to sample the wines: a modern, open room with well-spaced tables, a wood-burning fire, and views out over the vineyard. Sparkling clean glasses were lined up ready for our tasting. All Covid protocols were in place. We have bought wine from Rowlee before, and we were hoping to try and buy the new vintage Arneis. Natasha is very knowledgeable about all the wines, and we ended up joining the wine club, and coming away with a case of the Arneis, as well as some beautiful Fumé Blanc and Pinot Gris. This cellar door is a relaxing, peaceful place in the heart of Orange’s wine growing district. A visit is highly recommended.

De Salis Wines is a small winery/cellar door at Lofty Vineyard on the northern slopes of Mt Canobolas in the Orange Wine Region, Central Tablelands of NSW. We focus on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sparkling wine in the traditional method. Our winemaking philosophy is Minimal Intervention, natural ferments, low low sulphur additions, unfeigned and unfiltered, vegan wines.Wines are grown, made, bottled and sold on site. We do have a tasting fee if guests decide not to purchase wine after tasting.
We visited 5 cellar doors over the weekend and De Salis was definitely my favourite and the most unique experience. Due to social distancing we were taken to the barrel room for our tasting, what an amazing experience to be sitting amongst all the amazing wines. What I loved compared to the other cellar doors that we went to (apart from the amazing wines which were the best that we had tried) was the family passion and getting to meet Ben and his father Charlie. We bought quite a few wines and joined the wine club. A must visit when in Orange and we will be back.

Heifer Station Wines is a small family owned and operated single vineyard tasting room in one of Oranges most picturesque areas. Set in a turn of the century, historic sheep shearing shed on rolling volcanic terroir. At almost 900m elevation the vineyard is truly cool climate. We offer intimate vineyard tours for groups of 5 on our 6 seater golf buggy by pre arrangement. There is also a little 'funny farm' for the little (and Big) kids to enjoy. Feed the chooks, goats and pony. Varietals and Styles include: Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Rose, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Shiraz. Our newest wine is Genisse a Methode Australis Chardonnay/Pinot sparkling. "With respect for the earth, and a whole lot of Altitude - The fruit does the talking! That's the Heifer Station Way. We then add the love to create elegant single vineyard wines you will want to enjoy again and again"
Loved our wine tasting session at @heiferstationwines yesterday. So glad I ordered their cheese platter to go with, it was delicious along with local preserves and sweet baby figs cheese ???? I enjoyed tasting their Génisse (French word for Heifer) NV Brust, their interesting white grape Rosé Saignée, Chardonnay. I really liked their 2018 handpicked Shiraz ???? It’s also a great place for families to visit for wine tasting as it a sandpit, roaming chickens and petting zoo.

Cook Park is a beautiful oasis in city which clearly values its trees. Amazing old trees, well kept lawns and plenty of benches for a quiet read in a tranquil setting. I was lucky enough to catch the Begonia House in full flower, a very special experience. Lots of young families were having a great time watching the ducks and playing on the swings. A lovely park.

A family member took my friend and I (we were visiting him in the Blue Mountains) to Orange. We decided to stop off at a vineyard and happened upon Borrodell. It was my first time at a vineyard/doing wine tasting and I really enjoyed it. The female owner in the wine cellar with a small group of us was extremely friendly and personable and made it a really nice experience to remember. We bought a couple of bottles to take home (can't remember which ones now!). There were good views as well. We didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu looked good (would be nice to eat there for a special occasion) - it was great to see Caerphilly cheese on the menu, being from Wales!

My daughter and I went to Philip Shaw for a wine tasting. The setting is stunning, beautiful tables outside overlooking gardens and a large dam. The service was immediate and very friendly. The wine was served with a small plate of cheese, Prosecco and fresh nectarine. The wines were delicious and the staff explained each one quickly and thoroughly. a very enjoyable experience.
