A barrier island where you can see loggerhead turtles nesting, dolphins playing and bald eagles soaring in the sky, Folly Beach offers a kick-off-your-shoes beach lifestyle where the livin’ is easy and the fish always seem to be biting. All of the beaches on Folly Island are superb, but, arguably the Folly Beach County Park, at the island’s west end, is perhaps the best with amenities like 2,500 feet of ocean frontage, picnic areas and boogie board, bicycle, umbrella and chair rentals available between Labor Day and Memorial Day. “Drop a line” is a common local saying and for good reason. Anglers can select from surf fishing, river fishing, pier fishing and deep-sea fishing. Head to the Folly Beach Fishing Pier, which is 24 feet wide extending more then 1,045 feet into the Atlantic Ocean, making it perfect for fishing, strolling and bird and dolphin watching. For adventurous types, you can kayak around Folly Beach and James Island, jet ski, parasail or ride a bicycle along Folly’s six mile of beachfront.

Made appointment prior to traveling, very professionally handled. Had worked with Dr. Deean Fawn Smith. Service was fantastic. I had an extra sore area, that was treated with care and I felt the best I have in a long time. If you live here or visiting try the Wellness Center.

Sail Folly offers a unique sailing experience on the fast yet stable Stiletto 27' catamaran. Dolphin/Day Sails, Sunset Cruises, and Private Charters. All of our sails are private so whether it's just the two of you or a group of six, the boat is all yours! And with two boats, we can handle groups up to 12. The waters where we sail are full of dolphin, pelicans, herons, egrets and other wildlife. Kick back in bean bags or come take the helm of a fast cat. There are secluded beaches where we can pull up for a swim and some shelling along the way. The sunsets in the low country are stunning and the best place to take them in is definitely from the water. Now with two 27' catamarans, we have the perfect venue for bachelorette/bachelor parties on the water, as well as business and church groups. To really see what it's all about, click on sailfolly.com where you will find great pics and a FAQ page. It's super easy to book online from our site.

Me and my husband came on a anniversary trip from Michigan. Its such a cute town. I read the other reviews with complaints on parking ..... Its a downtown.. so if anyone is use to a downtown ... they should know things fill up FAst and this is a big tourist attraction. We found parking along the beach area i believe it was $6 for 4-5 hours. It was not unreasonable. And some do find free parking along the downtown streets or around the vacation home areas. When there the downtown plays Caribbean music and the colors of the buildings are like being in the Caribbean. Right away i told my husband it feels like we just ported somewhere off our cruise ship and just stepped in the Bahamas lol. It was nice to feel so relaxed and a great get away. We went first in the ocean, and the water was soooo warm. We are from fresh water.... we don’t have warm water lol so this was a nice change. We did spot several pods of dolphins in the distance when we were on their pier. They have some shops on the water edge but more of them are in the surrounding downtown. Reading the reviews on the masks .... sigh ..... PEOPLE ARE OUTSIDE!!!!! Coming from michigan it was a nice change to see people living like normal a bit and not living in fear and not simply existing through life. I had one woman in a shop on the beach get ugly and tell me to put on my muzzle and honestly her tone kept me from buying anything. As for the small shops i didn’t go in many but from what i could see many were wearing masks while in them. I come from michigan where i quickly learned the fears for us are not the same for our state governor and when that happens, yeah the fear goes out that window. It was nice to live free in other states and enjoy life a bit and not be fed the fear day in and out. We are feeling great and refreshed and been back 3 weeks now and miss it greatly. I love THIS TOWN. Its great for shopping ( More so after november I’d bet ) its great for the beach. The beach is clean and felt very safe. I’d travel here again next time i come back. Highly recommend.

The Folly Beach Fishing Pier is closed for reconstruction that is expected to take 28 months, with the new pier opening approximately Spring of 2023. For more information, please visit our website.
This pier has it all! Gift shop, restaurant, and ice cream! The pier is absolutely gorgeous, and a nice walk. I love the upper deck feature as well. You pay to park but can stay as long as you like! Also within walking distance are lots of shops and restaurants along the strip. Fun way to kill a few hours!
