Vientiane is the capital and largest city in Laos. Located on the banks of the Mekong River, Vientiane is a city steeped in legend and history. The city is the home of the massive gilded stupa, Pha That Luang, a national symbol of Laos. The streets are lined with trees, French colonial buildings, street markets, Buddhist temples, and noodle shops. Just outside the city is Buddha Park, a garden littered with over 200 cement sculptures depicting the gods and monsters of Buddhist and Hindu myth.

The room was small and dark and not as advertised on Booking.Com (no desk and chair or wardrobe). I travel frequently in Lao PDR and often stay in small town hotels - this was the first hotel that did not provide bottled water. Tjere was no housekeeping although I finally managed to get a miniscule bar of soap. Breakfast - what to say - if you can find someone they might manage to fry you an egg (note breakfast included in the booking). The place is a hangout for sex workers - persistent knocking on the door at night and illegal drugs on the premises. If this is your kind of place - well fine! Also please note that Covid 19 precautions non existent.

~Location~ I had read that the location was good which is why I picked this hotel however whilst it wasn’t bad, I didn’t find it especially good either. ~The Room & Establishment~ The room was pretty basic with a desk, fridge and TV but no safe. There were a lot of mosquitoes on the premises which wasn’t great. The aircon dripped all night outside the window - not sure if it was from my room or above. The noise from other guests was loud and inconsiderate. The walls are very thin and it felt like I was in the bathroom with the man next door taking his ablutions!! It was seriously gross. Whilst you can’t stop the noise from outside, it would be good if management put up signs on the backs of doors/the corridors advising that before 7.30am and after 10pm to please be quiet. I’d say the photos provided by the hotel were from when the hotel was first opened and not recent. Guest photos are a slightly better guide. Hot water/pressure: I froze then fried and the pressure was not good for washing long hair. Wifi: mostly good ~The Service~ Reception staff are polite and friendly. Great service booking a taxi out to Buddha Park and with help booking our minivan to Vang Vieng. Communication: Good

Tera Hotel is a new modern Hotel with big rooms. It is very clean and the staff is very attentive and try to help you always. There is a gym with modern machines. The served food is delicious and quick delivered by the roomservice . The only point which is not so good is the location of the hotel . But the staff will bring you by electro cart near the center of the city. Highly recommended! Thumbs up !

First of all, once we arrived, the price was different than the price showed on booking. They said because of the changing rates so I let it go because the difference wasn't much. The rooms... Is like having paper walls, you can hear everything! Breakfast was far from even average so we skipped even though we stayed there three nights. Shared toilets and showers so don't expect anything to be clean. Location is perfect, that cannot be denied.

Couldn’t have asked for a better stay! The staff are amazing and willing to help with just about anything. We arrived late after a 12 hour bus journey. The room was clean with comfortable beds. Something that we hadn’t had for 5 months! Breakfast was filling and enough to set you up for the day.
