The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

Everything about the hotel was perfect. The suite was beautiful and in keeping with the hotels era. The butler service was very good, the staff through out the hotel were attentive, friendly, polite and helpful. The bed comfortable, a pillow menu allowing for a change if desired. An elegant bathroom. Comfortable chairs and a table on the balcony to look at the garden, was very peaceful. Breakfast in the Tiffin Room was extensive and encompassing both eastern and western food, served promptly in lovely surroundings. Altogether a perfect stay for our 50th wedding anniversary. All the little extras to help us celebrate were much appreciated. The pool area was also a popular spot with us, reminiscent of a by gone era.

"Situated in the Civic District close to historic and tourist sites, Raffles City Shopping Centre is a haven for consumers looking for luxury items. Built on the site of a former school (Raffles Institution), Raffles City is downtown shopping at its finest. The mall has a number of luxury and designer stores such as Omega, Thomas Sabo, Cortefiel and Tommy Hilfiger, among others. Here, you’ll also find big department stores like Marks & Spencer and Robinsons, and fashion chains like Topshop, River Island and Skyla. In fact, Raffles City covers most shopping bases with fashion, books, music, sports, toys, eyewear and beauty all available above the City Hall MRT station, which makes getting here all the more convenient. I was in Carlton Hotel for my staycation during my birthday on 5th April 2021 and during in the evening I went to Raffles City Shopping Mall in Singapore I decided to reward myself to buy some stuff for myself. I saw Levi's store from outside the mall and I decided to walk in to buy my first jeans. Honestly, I am not a big fan of jeans outfits or apparel but once I walked into Levi's and suddenly I changed my mind and keep telling to myself why not I should try jeans as part of my casual wear. The highlight of the store is the discounted price of Jeans has been placed in front of the entrance and that is the totally make me walk into the store. By a warm welcome and greetings from Mr. Prince - Store Assistant, he totally such a good person for a recommendation, good in product knowledge, and very helpful. After a few jeans that I trying on and looking for some recommendation, he totally gave his opinion to me which one is more suitable for myself. He shared with me the alteration service also available in their store but needs to pick up a few days later. For this kind of wonderful and tremendous service by Prince, I think he deserved to have these compliments words from me. I will definitely recommend this outlet to all my friends and look out to Prince for any assistance. Regards, Dean Mahamud

A haven for techology geeks, Funan offers the newest and widest range of gadgets, from laptops and desktop computers to printers and digital cameras.
Funan Mall, a stone's throw from City Hall MRT Station, used to be an specialty mall with plenty of electronics and IT products shops. It has undergone a total makeover and was relaunched in 2019 as a lifestyle mall for the young and young at heart. Most of the IT shops are gone. Just as well since most people now go online to buy their electronics stuff. I love Funan's new image; it is hip and happening and boasts colourful, cool design and layout. Funan hosts a cineplex, an indoor rock climbing wall, a plethora of F&B outlets catering to every palate and pocket, and is linked to the Ascott Group's new concept 'lyf Hotel' tailored to millenial travellers. I will be the first to admit that Funan is not the place shopaholics would head to; there are plenty of other malls all over Singapore for anyone on a shopping spree for apparel, bags, cosmetics, footwear etc. Funan offers visitors more 'out of the box' options; it is a cool and fun place to hang out on a hot, humid day, where one can check out the latest mobile phones, try rock climbing and other weekend activities (eg coffee art class) held at the mall, satisfy one's hunger pangs, chat over drinks at one of the many cafes, and finally watch a movie before heading home.

Rumah Padang is a stall in the food court at Basement Level 1 of Capitol Piazza, in Singapore's Civic District. The food court is popular with office workers and students from the nearby Singapore Management University. This stall sells Indonesian-styled nasi padang of spicy meats dishes and veggies to accompany plain or saffron rice. To make things easy, a combo with one meat and two veggies will run you S$5.50 while their special set of ayam pengyet or 'smashed chicken' costs $6.50 and this comes with a clear soup. My set of curry chicken, a fried potato cutlet and tangy salad of cucumber, pineapple and carrots, is pictured. I like my plain rice dripping wet with curry. While the head cook is Mainland Chinese, he has obviously learned his craft well. That's why I keep coming back for more.

I have been a patron of this mall for many years. But first note, this is not Peninsula Plaza which ia better known for its Burmese stores. Peninsula shopping centrw on the other hand is famous for its sports shops, tailors and Photography shops. Based in an old but well spread out mall, the shops provide a diverse and unique range of products not found in a standard retail mall. Do take note of the large football shops Weston and La Vanita, the shop on 2nd floor selling Police and Army memorabilia, the plus sized clothing shops on B1 and the many guitar shops and tailors there. Very interesting for any tourist who doesnt want to visit the standard malls with the similar branded shops in it.
