The 8 Best Self-Guided Tours & Rentals in Okanagan Valley, Okanagan Valley

October 30, 2021 Terina Blouin

The Okanagan Valley, in the interior of British Columbia, is a popular Canadian vacation destination known for skiing in the winter and watersports in the summer. The area's quaint towns and lush vineyards are connected by a network of clear blue lakes and rivers and surrounded by rolling, sun-dappled hills. Head to Kelowna for one of several wine festivals or to Penticton for the sugary summer Peach Festival. To the south is Osoyoos, home to an arid desert filled with rare plants and animals.

We booked and paid for the boat a month in advance for an anniversary photo session and with less then a week away to the date they cancelled on us! The only explanation they would give is “the boat is no longer available” “we are no longer operating this season” and “we can not give any other information due to legal reasons.” Although they are still posting photos on Instagram and have not posted anything about being out of business on their website. When trying to find another boat we contacted a tour company who apparently uses Okanagan Yacht Tours for their boat tours and they told us that they apparently sold the boat? So many different stories, something is really fishy. We received a refund but we can’t get our money back with such short notice for the photographer, hair and makeup booking etc... and we’re coming all the way from Edmonton as well. So we’re out a bunch of money and the only other boat tours in the Okanagan are fully booked. Totally ruined our anniversary!

It was so easy and relaxing. I was amazed how quick they move along. It even got a little windy and choppy and still no problem and very stable when boats went by

Peter was a great host! And he makes it to converse and bond with him in such a short period of time. He was kind and knew how to treat everyone in my family, this kids and up to the seniors and made interesting and fun. The ride was very comfortable and his boat is tidy, clean and spacious. He gave us a lovely tour for a reasonable price! Hope to see you again Peter and wishing you all the best! Jamal
