Eighteen fabulous restaurant concepts, eleven fantastic groceries and service premises - Warsaw's Śródmieście regained its lost pearl. Hala Koszyki is the first and the only place of its kind in whole Poland. Now all the best restaurateurs and chefs may feed you with the delicacies from every part of the world under one roof at Hala Koszyki.
I love this place. Would give it 10 stars. It embodies perfectly the modern Warsaw and poland. Super Mix of various restaurants and street food in a beautifully and very stylish former converted market hall.... An absolute must for each Warsaw visit.

It makes me feel so good to know that there are actually people in the world who recognize the greatness of this former U.S. President. It was so surprising to see this monument, and so sad at the same time that I felt more of a comraderie with the Poles than I do with my own fellow Americans (at least those who dismiss the legacy of such a great American leader). The likeness is uncanny of the former President, and captures his famous grin to a "T". Would definitely make a stop over to take a gander and some photos if you're in Warsaw!

Warsaw was utterly destroyed during the war, and the next communist government had to rebuild it. It took the opportunity to de-bourgoise the main Marshall Street. A new, monumental square was thus built, with large buildings around (all caled MDM, Marhall Street's Residential District) and and great light posts, as well as reliefs of workers on the building. Some think it's ugly, but I think it's beautiful: symmetric to some extent, monumental, ellegant and modestly ornamented. Recently its charm was spoilt by renovating two sides of it in two different colours. There were ideas to move Marszałkowska (Marshal's) Street a bit aside, so it would end nicely with the axis of the Saviour's church, but president Bierut decided a view of the church is not a good view at all. You can reach the square by tram and by a bus. There was supposed to be a metro station too, but this was cancelled, although new plans do include it.

It’s very interesting. The tree is called Greetings from Jerusalem Avenue. It was designed by Jewish Polish artist Joanna Rajkowska and constructed in 2002. Do a search and learn more about it.
