The 8 Best Points of Interest & Landmarks in Arganzuela, Community of Madrid

November 29, 2021 Tynisha Seiler

So many of Madrid’s buildings look like castles, you’ll think you’ve stumbled into a fairytale. Even City Hall is astounding, with its white pinnacles and neo-Gothic features. A self-guided architecture tour can begin by the great bear statue in the central Puerta del Sol. Wander by the fanciful Royal Palace before absorbing the natural beauty of Retiro Park, then visit one of the city’s many museums. You could happily cap off each day by nibbling on forkfuls of paella while sipping Spanish rioja.

Madrid-Puerta de Atocha Train Station

The Atocha reminds me of London's Kings Cross/St Pancras and of the Grand Central in New York, because it is another massive transit terminal for travelers. From outside, one can mistake it for another monument for its structure is really nice. It's a station for metro lines, cercania trains, intercity trains and the high speed trains. Tip: Luggage storage available. Payable per cabinet, so you can get a large cabinet and store several items in it. Tip 2: Since it is quite large, make sure you are on the right side. Tip 3. Cercania line connects straight with the airport.
