A visit to Sicily is truly a feast for all senses. The Mediterranean island is a foodie’s paradise, offering rustic fare that makes the most of local bounty. Crispy/creamy arancini – fried balls of rice filled with cheese and sauce – are mouthfuls of heaven. The Sicilian sweet tooth has manifested in some of the world’s finest desserts, like icy granita and sinful cannoli. Give your stomach a quick break and visually devour the Baroque architecture of Catania or the awesome holy monuments of Agrigento.

B&B Casa Galati: new opening in February 2014 in the centre of Palermo! A holiday in the city of Palermo is an experience of art, tradition and entertainment and B&B Casa Galati is the ideal place to experience this adventure in the best of ways. Our bed and breakfast is well-refined and trendy, and is situated in a strategic location as regards public transport and services, perfect even for those travelling only for business. Comfort, elegance and courtesy are the features which distinguish Casa Galati. For tourism or business, Casa Galati will be the perfect choice for your stay. B&B Casa Galati is on the first floor of Palazzo Galati, a historic building of the late 17th century, situated in the heart of the city, facing the magnificent and well-known Teatro Massimo, symbol of the city of Palermo. We are in the heart of the shopping area, of the historical city centre with its traditional marketplaces, its architectural and monumental wonders and only o few steps away from the night movida, the restaurants and pastry shops and gelaterie of the best tradition. The area is well serviced by public transport and by a taxi service, both only a few steps away. The bus stop to/from the airport of Palermo "Falcone-Borsellino" and to/from the airport of Trapani "Birgi" is located only 200 meters from our B&B in Piazza Politeama. We wish to offer our guests, through the works of the local artist Rosa Lombardo (Larotellina), a "small journey" within the city of Palermo, in its many astonishimg aspects. The artist shows us the city of Palermo and Sicily through innocent and immaginative eyes, works which are animated through the use of bright lively colours. The collaboration with Larotellina has given our B&B a touch of originality and freshness of which we are proud, and hope that our guests will appreciate it as well. B&B Casa Galati is composed of 5 spacious and luminous rooms, decorated with charm and style, fully equipped to offer our guests maximim comfort. Each room has a bathroom (3 rooms have an en-suite bathroom, 2 rooms have a private external bathroom), hairdryer, independent air conditioning and heating, tv, tea and coffee making facilities. One of our rooms is for disabled guests. B&B Casa Galati is a family-run activity and the owners will be helpful in giving their guests useful suggestions for making their stay in Palermo as pleasant as possible. English, French and German are spoken. On request, we can arrange transfers to/from the airport, car/bycicle rentals, babysitting, holiday rentals at the sea.
The location of Casa galati is perfect. Nothing is more than a 15/20min walk. Marco from the moment we arrived was amazing. Nothing was to much trouble, he was full of great hints & tips and his chocolate cake was worthy of bake off ?

We stayed at Residence Aquilone for two nights with our little daughter and we loved it here. The room was spacious, clean and even had a fridge. The rooms are located in a beautiful garden with lots of different flowers, lemon trees and cute decorations. It feels like diving into a different world full of quietness and peacefulness. The owner Adriano was very welcoming, friendly and helpful and was giving us lots of tips for activities around the volcano and helped organising them. Adriano and family, thank you very much for making our stay on this beautiful island perfect! We highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone (with or without children) looking for a quiet and personal place to stay.

‘La Nassa’ guesthouse is located on the seafront in Ficogrande, just opposite Strombolicchio. As it is by the seaside and very close to the centre of the village, our guesthouse provides the ideal place where to spend a pleasant and relaxed holiday in Stromboli. Built in the typical Aeolian style and surrounded by a large, flowering garden, all rooms are en-suite and have access to a terrace from where to enjoy fabulous views of the sea or the volcano.
Simple, clean & tidy like a greek village house with a lotof chracter. Good location out of the crowds but close to everything: Beach, church, restaurants. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Open views around. If you look for luxury it is not for you.

Scicli is our first stop in our Sicily tour and we had the most wonderful stay at this amazing hotel. We were picked up by a quaint Italian tuk tuk to the reception and staff Jan directed us to parking by the church. Met by a very friendly hotel manager Ivan who gave us a tour of the hotel. Looked at few rooms as options and we chose our favourite to stay. Ours is actually a two bedroom en-suite with a balcony. Our other couple friends has a sitting area and balcony and cave like bathroom. Hotel public area and landscape is beautiful. Built against rocks and surrounded by residents occupied by locals. And it’s not a ghost village. At the base is the chiesa of St Bartolommeo and side roads parked with residents cars and a mini mart. Walking down from hotel is rather steep slippery pebbled road so need to be careful. To the town piazza where many restaurants are found is about a 3 min walk. The hotel service was most attentive and Manager Ivan was very responsive to our needs. This hotel deserves 5 star and I would recommend it as No 1 stay in Scicli.

After a long day driving in Sicily (bad idea I know) I chose Parching dei Parrini but my gps got me very lost trying to find it. Not only did Carolina drive 20 minutes to find me so I could follow her back, she bought me dinner and a bottle of wine. She went above and beyond to take care of me -a complete stranger in a moment of need and I appreciated that. Her home is lovely, and cozy nestled in the trees with a pool. She even woke up at 6am to be sure I got a cappuccino and could catch my flight. She was an angel and I was lucky to meet her! Highly recommend!
