Came here with a work friend and spent two lovely hours relaxing and painting. I made a plaque for my parents’ new house and it looks great. The staff were really helpful and showed us which tools to use for which design. Cafe good..lacking in vegan and decaf options but more than happy to just make me a warm mug of oat milk which was lovely.

Question: What do you do to entertain a 6 year old on her lockdown birthday? Answer: An at-home take-out pottery painting experience from Tea & Bisque-it! Well what a great time we had! Grandma, Granddad, mum & daughter (Covid 19 support bubble, don’t worry)all spent a few very happy hours painting our chosen pottery. It is quite addictive once you start, even my husband (who does not have an artistic bone in his body) enjoyed it and made an impressive job of painting his spoon rest! I painted a Christmas church tea-light holder, my daughter painted a cat bowl and my granddaughter painted a horse money box. We had a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon and I highly recommend the activity. All of us (except my husband) spent an additional couple of hours during the week to finish off our creations. My daughter and I had painted at the shop a few years ago and enjoyed it. This time my daughter had seen it advertised on Face-book. They are only open for collection on Wednesday and Saturday at present. You choose your pottery from a huge range (prices range between £10 and £20 as far as I could see) on display in the window and pay for that and a £5 deposit for 5 paints of your choice (or £10 for 10 paints as we did) and all the other bits & bobs that you need (instructions, colour chart, a selection of paintbrushes, sponge and mixing palettes). Everything is well wrapped up in a big bag to transport home. You have 10 days in which to create your masterpiece and return it to the shop for firing which glazes it and transforms the colours from pastel to bright. They then phone when it is ready for collection. We were told it could be up to a fortnight (it was just after half-term so they must have been busy). Two weeks later our pottery was ready to collect and the unveiling was very exciting! We were all pleased with our creations and they will be great mementos of a very happy day.
