Lake Muskoka is my favourite place. Many childhood memories were created here and I still see this lake daily. I try to get out on the lake as often as possible in the boat, paddleboard or even aboard one of the great ships cruising out of the Muskoka Wharf. Definitely a treasure and should be protected for futures generations to enjoy!

This is a beautiful park with a lovely view of Gull Lake. But watch out for those gulls. We were eating a snack on a bench there when a gull swooped in and nicked my finger trying to steel my food. The Music on the Barge Summer Concerts on Sundays there can't be beat!

The Ryde Barn Quilt Trail was created in 2014 to honour the 135 year history of the Township of Ryde. You can drive the whole trail in about an hour. There are some side detours to see additional quilts. The website details the histories of the properties. All the barn quilts are on private property and are meant to be viewed from the road. Please drive carefully. Geocaching also present.
The quilts are very simple. However, following the route allowed me to drive across different areas of Gravenhurst. The landscape is so beautiful. A couple of quilts have been removed.

We love taking our nature loving visitors to the area to the Tree Museum. The combination of large art installations and Muskoka beauty is something different and a lot of fun.
