With its collection of historic homes, museums and battlefields, Frederick, Maryland, is a must-see destination for any history enthusiast. Baker Park is a 58 acre gem that meanders along the banks of Carroll Creek thru the heart of downtown Frederick. It is bordered by a historic neighborhood full of beautiful homes and only a short distance from Hood College. The park has baseball fields, a playground where we took our granddaughter, a lake, swimming pool, pavilions, a bandshell for summer concerts, gardens, fishing, trails, you name it. As nice as it is now, it must have been unbelievable for a small town Frederick when it was built in 1927.
