Rapid City has long been considered one of the gateways to the West, and its rich cowboy and Native American heritage is the result. Visitors won't want to miss the area's mammoth outdoor sculptures. There's Mount Rushmore, of course, but work also continues on the nearby Crazy Horse Memorial, which will be the largest sculpture in the world when it is finally completed years down the line. Among the many local attractions are the scenic Black Hills, several nearby cavern systems that offer guided tours and the South Dakota Air and Space Museum.

Dog in room next door barked all morning. The room appeared clean - but did not check out the rest of the hotel amenities as the patrons in the lobby area when checking in appeared to be transients and I was not comfortable as I was traveling alone.

We stayed here May 31 thru June 3, 2022. It's clean, the breakfast is good; toast (no butter or peanutbutter) cereal, milk, Bananas, yogurt, eggs muffins But they need butter and salt & pepper. I'm not giving a real good rating because the WiFi is so weak you cannot open ANY browsers. You certainly cannot work from there or research places to visit while on Rapid City. Also have only analog TV, which is OK. We weren't there to watch TV.

We are a small motel in downtown Rapid City. We have clean rooms, low rates, heated pool. We try to make you feel at home when you're away from yours.
This hotel is a good value for what it is. The walls are a bit thin, & there was some confusion with my airport shuttle, but the staff was super-friendly & the location is close to the bars & restaurants of the downtown entertainment district. The rooms all have external doors & my room was very cute.

Quality is not the word I would use to describe this hotel. It needs a lot of maintanance: the hot tub is broken, side doors have broken card keys, the ice machine on our side of the hotel is out of order, etc. Check in was painfully slow. But the room was clean. So if you just want a place to sleep, this hotel would work.

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Please think twice about staying in this dump, your dog will thank you for it. It was dirty, dirty, dirty! And that was after waiting 2hrs after check in for it to be cleaned. Sad state of affairs at this dump.

Nice, Cozy, and Updated! Serena Inn & Suites offers free Wi-Fi, 24 Hour Business Center, 24 Hour Front desk and a great hot breakfast.
Reserved Whirlpool Suite. Upon arrival to room, the light was burned out. The bedding was missing, the tv remote was missing, the coffee pot in kitchen was missing. The bathroom was dirty, the kitchen was dirty, the microwave was dirty, the whirlpool was dirty. Cleaned it all up ourselves, as we really wanted to enjoy the whirlpool. Tried to use hot tub after dinner, no hot water. Tried again before bed, no hot water. Tried 3rd time in morning, no hot water. Asked front desk for refund, told a manager would contact me. Waited a week, no response, no refund. Emailed 2nd time with complaint, and request for refund. Waited two weeks, no response, no refund. Called a month later, finally made contact with manager. Unfortunately, no apology, no refund.

Our Super 8 Rapid City Rushmore Rd hotel is conveniently located off Route 16 in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. We are just 23 miles from the world-famous presidential carvings at Mount Rushmore National Memorial and close to attractions.
The lower property is separate from the main hotel. It had a distinct smell when I got inside the outer door. The room looked older and pretty beat up. I didn't like the parking area and didn't feel safe about having my car exposed. This was the worst room I stayed in on my entire trip. Check in was ok--hotel clerk assisted me from behind a plexiglass barrier.

We stayed one night and had a very bad experience. The room smelled awful; opening the window did not even help. We were assigned a room on the second floor next to the water slide and the ice machine. Noise all evening. Walls and doors are paper thin. When water slide closed the night life began. Knocking on doors; talking loud in hallway. Managed to sleep fitfully for a couple of hours when heard loud constant knocking on door across the hall and shouting: "Open this f'in door! I have your pot!" Next morning, I was upset about the lack of sleep and forgot my makeup bag. Hotel has refused to put my personal item in a box, and mail it back to me even though I was willing to pay for shipping! I would give this hotel a 0 if I could.
