CONCHOLOGISTS OF AMERICA CONVENTION

What a wonderful experience! All facets of the convention were wonderful, from food to the room accommodations to the meeting rooms. Staff was so helpful; from the hotel porters, the docents at the attractions, to the wait staff at The Cafe, where the ongoing joke about Sophia Loren was so much fun! This is a wonderful place for a convention or a family vacation. Thank you to everyone for making it so pleasant!

Good deal for the price and great location

Reviewed By Cristi C

We originally had a room in the first floor that was newly renovated. The toilet broke so they easily moved us to another room. It wasn’t newly renovated and in the 2nd floor with 2 beds rather than one king, but it was clean and comfortable. We walked to the beach every day with no problem. They didn’t provide breakfast, but it had a fridge, microwave, hairdryer and was spacious. Great deal.

Extremely disappointed

Reviewed By jamieds2009

We checked in and the first room had what looked like bugs in the bed and the cover had stains. Went and asked for a new room, they moved is no problem. 2nd room, mold on the bottom beds...or something worse. It was nasty! Bathrooms were nice but hairdryer had her all over it and looked dirty. Railing outside was rusted and falling apart or held together with zip ties or caution tape. We left and booked a room elsewhere. Do not recommend! Spend a little more for something cleaner.

Horrible place to stay

Reviewed By jkuehl730972

No ac , over charged after quoted price, rude staff, strange people walking around at all hours talking to themselves. The room wasn't properly cleaned when we got there. The ac was set at 60 but the room felt 80 and had to buy a fan the second night. The blankets on the bed felt plastic. The breakfast was a joke of mini muffins and old coffee. The woman at the front desk was hacking up a lung and rude and seemed put out by doing her job in anymore capacity than sitting in the chair behind the computer. My card was charged for over 300$ more than the price I was quoted and when I asked about my refund she said she had no idea when I'd get it and went on to ignore me until I left the office

Minimalist decor, very clean, very affordable price

Reviewed By Karen N

I visited during Spring Break and was grateful to find any hotel less than $100 per night. Just me and my husband so a bed, bathroom and air conditioner is all we need. Visiting daughter in college here in Galveston. Just a note, the website says queen size bed but it is definitely a full size. I hate sleeping that close to my husband but that is my problem :-) Obviously, the clientele is not the same you would find at a Hampton Inn or Marriott but for the most part everyone minds their own business and manners. The staff was efficient and friendly and I had no issues with check in. The room smells like a bleach cleaner was used but I would say in this day and age that is a plus. The bed is clean and neat, the bathroom updated and clean and the ac works very well and is not loud or clangy. The property is well kept and plenty of grassy areas for animals which are allowed. I have no complaints about this hotel even if it is a Motel 6.

I read mixed reviews and was confused by them. Wanted to see the city before my cruise. My room was clean, the bed was cozy and the location was wonderful! You can walk a few blocks and ride the Galveston Island trolley all over town. Within walking distance of food and entertainment. The beach is across the street. Coffee is provided but no breakfast due to Covid, Free WiFi. Affordable. If I visit Galveston would stay there again.

Never stay here run the other way

Never stay in this raggedy ass motel it was almost $400 for 2 nights plus a $50 deposit. We booked before we got there when we seen it we wanted to find a different one and couldn't get our money back for at least 3 days when it would be released back to the card. I went to the store came back and there was no parking I had to park at a bar and walk back to my room. The ceilings are falling in the stucco on the walls is falling off there was a hole in my wall home made breaker box in my room. There was no hot water the wifi doesn't work the fan cover in the bathroom is falling off the ceiling the bar was bumping bass in my room all night long car alarms going off at 3 in the morning for 15 minutes the tweakers were slamming doors all night and even knocked a window out of the "motel" (as they call it I call it a disease waiting to happen).should be condemned. His best hope is a hurricane blows that piece of junk meth shack rat motel down in the sand.
