The Colmar Synagogue was built between 1839 and 1842 and inaugurated September 15, 1843. It is built in a Romanesque Revival style and is listed as an historic monument since July 1984. With a length of 33 meters and 20 meters wide, it is the seat of the Israelite Consistory of Haut-Rhin. It is the only synagogue in Alsace to have a steeple.
