The seal of a biblical priest who served in the First Temple, a rare silver half-shekel coin that was used for the Temple tax according to biblical law, arrowheads from the destruction of the first temple, jewels, and many more exciting discoveries were made over the years while sifting soil from Jerusalem's Temple Mount. Many more treasures are still hiding in this unique soil and you have the opportunity to discover them! Over 250,000 people already took part in this endeavor, will you also be part of this huge public heritage preservation project? Background: Since 2004, the Temple Mount Sifting Project has been sifting the soil destructively and illegally bulldozed from the Temple Mount in order to preserve, research, and publish the archaeological history of this ancient and holy place.
Fun activity for all ages while gaining informally fascinating historical and archeological information.

The ANZAC Memorial Center in Be’er Sheva was built in cooperation with the governments of Australia and Israel, the Be’er Sheva municipality, the JNF, JNF Australia and the CWGC. The Center is located near the cemetery for combatants of the First World War in Be’er Sheva. The ANZAC Memorial Center is a unique place in Israel that tells the story of the soldiers of the ANZAC and their conquest in the land of Israel. Pre-bookings are advisable.
This new museum is an intimate, simple and poignant place that pays fitting tribute to the brave young men who fought, and in several cases died, here. The guided tour (in English) that we and another Australian family were given, together with a film, photographic displays, archival footage and the powerful solemnity of the war graves cemetery, give a good understanding of the events which the Centre commemorates, without overwhelming. It’s advisable to book by phone. I had trouble initially communicating with the Centre. The online email form didn’t seem to work, and the person who answered the phone didn’t speak English. However when I phoned again later I got onto someone who did speak English, booked us for the tour, and gave good advice regarding public transport. We caught the 470 bus from the Jerusalem central bus station and changed to a local bus in Beersheva, aided by google maps. It was straightforward. I think this would appeal to anyone with an interest in history, and especially to Australians, New Zealanders and British visitors.

The IDF army day program. Upon arriving at Latrun the participants will receive their uniform and weapon (we can provide printed shirts with our emblem and name of group/family) then taken on the guided tour with an active duty soldier, at the end of the tour the participants will be taken to the laser tag field where they will learn some of the basics that soldiers get greeted with upon joining the army. Teamwork, leadership, discipline. They will then be trained in how the IDF special forces takes firing positions: Standing, kneeling and laying with dummy rifles. They will also be thought some elements of krav maga like how to defend against a knife wielding attacker, the participants will get to practice with dummy knifes. Handling this program is a former commander within the Israeli counter terror unit (LOTAR) that has trained the IDF elites. After learning the basics of being a soldier the participants will receive the most advanced laser tag equipment in Israel used in training our armed forces and they will be ready for battle. Throughout an hour and half the participants will play through scenarios built to create the same kind of teamwork and leadership seen in the IDF like "protect the leader", "search and retrieve". After all this the participants will be awarded with a certificate for completing the program.
