Rome wasn't built in a day--and you'll need much more than a day to take in this timeless city. The city is a real-life collage of piazzas, open-air markets, and astonishing historic sites. Toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, contemplate the Colosseum and the Pantheon, and sample a perfect espresso or gelato before spending an afternoon shopping at the Campo de’Fiori or Via Veneto. Enjoy some of the most memorable meals of your life here, too, from fresh pasta to succulent fried artichokes or a tender oxtail stew.

Fast and good value for money, this train gets you into the heart of Rome in around 40 mins, buy ticket in the self service machines or the ticket office (dont forget to validate your ticket once bought in the small green machines). No traffic worries!! the direct train is fast.

We departed Venice during a time when it was hardest hit by flood. Luckily as well as amazingly the trains were operating. At the station, we started with the .italo ticket machine until we come to the ticket type and time selection. Next to the machine was a manned booth with a customer, so we looked around to see standing behind us an .italo rep Andre. He speaks English and is very helpful. Definitely he saved us an hour of wait time for the next train as he kept answering no problem, conveying to us that the entire ticket to boarding process is shorter than what we have grown accustomed to in Europe. The .italo has a club lounge for those choosing the club ticket with a cabin of 4 on a coach. Lounge is nice and clean, with helpful staff, and a very spacious and clean WC, with baby changing station. The cleanliness of the lounge WC can ease even the pickiest parents stressed about finding the best space to change their babies. The coach itself is clean and well kept. Luggage racks very suitable for carry-on type luggage. The train trip itself was smooth and relaxing. Although the trip lasted 3hrs and 50min plus delays, we were informed all the time of the amount of delay incurred which end up to be 20 minutes more. One of my companion can get motion sickness but did the entire trip without any issues since it was very smooth, fairly constant speed, and relaxing all the way. Small snack and drink choices were offered. I really enjoyed their service and would definitely take their trains again.

If you are in Rome for about 7 days or more, then this is one the systems you may want to try it out before getting a heat stroke or just getting burn in the extreme hot weather. Where do you find the transportation pass? If you go down on the lower level of Termini station there are kiosks and you will see prices and pass hanging. Now, if you want to pay each time you get on that is your choice, it cost 1.50 euro pass. But the pass I highly recommend is the 7 day pass for 24 euros. It makes life so much easier and to use the transport as well. There are other passes as well, you get the 24 (7 euro), 48 (12.50 euro), or the 72 (18 euros) hour pass well. If you look at the prices and that you are on a budget then do the math... which pass wins? I leave that option to you! I highly recommend using the metro, which is air conditioned, majority of the trains a very equipped and cleaned. Very nice! Enjoy riding!
