The name of India's tiniest Union Territory means "100,000 islands" in Maylayam, the local language; but in truth, there are 36 isles in this archipelago, 10 that are inhabited. In these palm-laden coral islands, a northern extension of the Maldives, diving reigns supreme. Both Kavaratti and Kadmat have full-service scuba facilities, and the latter also has a center for kayaking, water skiing, yachting and wind surfing. Teardrop-shaped Bangaram woos couples with its uninhabited white sands.

We visited this island on 29th march 2021 alonwith my wife, son and daughter. We booked Samudaram package of SPORTS department of Lakshdweep Government. We came here in M.S.Lagoon cruise being operated by UT administration. There is no jetty for big size ships so we disembarked from ship in deep sea far from the island. That was an unique experience.A small boat carried us to island.Upon arrival island we were transferred to a well maintained resort being run by administration of UT Lakshdweep. The resort wad situated at very beautiful and picturesque south tip of the island. Scuba diving at this island is best.We also did snorkeling at beautiful round petty island near the resort. There is no other means to come this island except the cruise. So we were only 80 tourist in this entire island. There is a small aquarium and a museum. We see here a huge Skelton of whale fish.Do not forget to buy T shirts from Govt run hoisery factory. Beauty of North tip of this island is just mesmerizing.White soft sand, waves from both sides of the tip, sky, azure, turquoise and blue colours of sea are amazing.Beauty of this part of island can not be expressed in words.

This is one of most beautiful island I have ever been too. The best part is, it the depth of water for almost 1-2 kms is just 3-4 feet in height. You can just walk for 1-2 km without being submerged in the water. I have never been to such beach before. It has beautiful dense coconut trees which looks stunning. The view from the light house is incredible - panoramic view of island overlooking thousands of fresh green coconut trees followed by clear blue waters. The local there were very welcoming. There were kayaks and beach volleyball place.

We deported from cruise in open sea and SPORT personnel arranged small boats to bring us exclusive resort for tourist at the island. At resort, welcome coconut water served. There wad a lot of recreational activities some were free and some reasonably chargeable. There was a lot of washroom, shower room with towels and body wash gels. Lunch, snacks ,juices etc was good.

Thinnakara Island and its resort offers the most quiet and peaceful stay in their lovely tent style rooms.Totally in love with this place! Serenity and peace at its max with abundance of nature all around. Keeping track of high n low tide timings helps- in low tide you can snorkle by the shore and even walk to Pareli island. Experiences to remember lifetime! Stay is comfortable n hygienic. Food was great. All in all....place to be one with nature!.Tents are basic, still amazing to enjoy the solitude, pristine white sand
