As you walk through the resort there is a fair tale like garden/dinning area. A variety of facilities available for activities including a gym, spa, and a parent/kids area for children friendly fun. Within the resort there are shops for last minute gift shopping. Friendly staff offering personal welcome and transportation assistance. Worth mention, they have really good grounded coffee!! I didn’t think I could have this type of great coffee in the middle of the mountain!

We stayed for two nights (one either side of the park visit) and I don't think there was a single thing we could complain about. We got a good deal online so the price was spot on - the room was large with two double beds and was very clean. The lady behind the desk spoke excellent English and could answer any questions we had with thorough understanding. The location is perfect - being at the closer end to the park! We opted for the free shuttle at 7.10 which got us there just in time for ticket box office opening. Walking back took about 10 minutes at the end of our day. We ate breakfast there but no evening meals - the menu was extensive and reasonably priced. Last of all the wifi was the best we have experienced so far in China. After a long day of walking we kicked back and relaxed watching streamed tv shows online with no drama. Ideal! We would recommend this hotel in particular to the budget traveller but even if you have the money to spend on something more flash I would still be happy with Angelie.

The location is few minutes from the park by taxi. The staff couldn't speak English at all so unable to book a taxi to airport. Very noisy at night I couldn't sleep until 3am. The bathroom was a bit dirty. The towels changed colour and had a hole. I won't stay here again. The park was awesome a must visit.

Summary: Passable by China standards, meaning I can accept staying here for that short duration since my objective is the beautiful national park nearby, and the hotel is adequate on the whole. But please judge for yourself because it depends a lot on your expectations. Location: 30min walk from park entrance. It is at Pengfeng village, straight in from the entrance all the way to the end. Not by the main road so it is quieter, away from the ridiculous continuous horn sounds of the million tour buses (I kid you not, the road is jammed with tour buses and they are all frustrated, and generous with using the extra loud horn). Car can drive straight up to the hotel entrance so if you have a lot of luggage, this is convenient. There were 2 mini supermarkets within the village (3 minute walk) and the things are fairly priced there. There are lots of food options nearby. One at the next building would open at 5.30am, and the food is decent and clean enough (no stomach problems). This village is among the liveliest, and feels safe even at night. I heard some other villages were really quiet and had no shops or food options. Cleanliness: Previous reviewer has addressed this. We were luckier that the staff would throw out our rubbish daily. But the bathroom was never cleaned. The clogging in the shower draining got worse by the day. Bring your own slippers, but I think this applies to most hotels, especially carpeted ones. We spotted a cockroach too, but only in the shower. The ridiculous thing was a hole in the bathroom ceiling just above the sink, to facilitate leaking water to drip down... WTH? Shower: There was some serious clogging during the shower. We were standing in our own filth after a while. The bathroom door couldn't really close so you better be sharing the room with a close companion. The water heater and water pressure were pretty good though. There was an attempt to provide shampoo and shower gel, but they looked a little dodgy. Facilities: Hairdryer is available from the reception, and they have quite a few for loan so it didn't matter that many people required it after a day of rain. There was a kettle in the room, which makes it convenient. Chinese people tend to really use it so I wouldn't over-worry on the cleanliness, but we still boiled several rounds of water before actually consuming from it. Power outlets were abundant in the room, good for charging the many devices. Towels felt gross, but then I never felt clean for most of my trip. The heating in the room was based on the air-conditioning unit. Wasn't extremely strong, so I suppose it wouldn't be warm enough in winter. Security: They have security cameras, and it mostly felt ok. There were people loitering and chain-smoking in the lobby, but seems they are the staff. In the early morning before the reception is staffed, no lights are turned on (even in the corridors), and the front door is LOCKED. Thank goodness it was padlocked from inside and the key was dangling from another section of the chain. Might be scary for many people. Check-in/out: I booked this hotel from Booking.com, and was initially worried if the hotel would honor the booking. Turns out they did, just that the reservation details were in English which they didn't understand. That held up check-in by just a bit. There is a RMB100 deposit as with most hotels on this trip to Chengdu. Check-out was a breeze.
