Arrived at the hotel to be told that we would have to move our own luggage to our room, as no staff. The restaurant was closed due to staff shortages. We were told we could get some food in the bar area but would have a long wait as they only had two staff serving !!! The rooms are crappy. The gym stank of old sweat. The whole place is a dump. The Grand Hotel ?!!! What a joke !!! Save your money . Avoid.

My sister and I spent one evening at the RFL. They were so nice to let us check-in 2 hours early! The bed and pillows were TOPS!!! Some of the best ever. I had an 18 hour day the previous day with work and driving to Williams so I was pretty exhausted the next day which was our check in day. I was so grateful I could check in a little early and take an hour nap.

We stayed for one night while we visited the Grand Canyon. Rooms seemed older, but spacious and clean. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was hard to find. Breakfast buffet had a good selection and if you are a big breakfast person, the buffet is probably worth it.

This hotel!! Wow! Upon check in I was greeted and thanked for being a member. She promptly checked me in, gave me the info I needed, asked if there was anything she could do to make our experience better, answered a few questions and then I was on my way. The room was wonderful. We stayed in a King- Kids Suite. It is an older hotel but very well maintained and clean. We got everything unpacked and realized we need an few more pillows. I called the front desk and ask for them, I said anytime would be fine. Within 10 mins there was a knock at the door. They were very accommodating. The room had a king bed in one room, then bunk beds in the other. A full size on bottom with a twin on top. There was a small kitchen area and sitting area. The sink is outside the bathroom so multiple people can get ready at the same time. I have never been in a hotel that I watched then clean the elevators. We stayed 3 nights and I believe this was our favorite stay at a hotel so far. The adults and kids having their own space is really nice now that our kids are older. The breakfast was nice and added different items each day. The lady that works hard getting everything ready was very efficient and kind. Coffee was great. It is easy to get into and park. The grounds are well kept. A safe feeling there. The pool area was nice and clean. Small but well kept. Everyone you ran into was kind and friendly. That goes a long way. Especially when you are away from home. This place deserves to be highly recommended!!!

Richard, the concierge at the grand plaza Canyon hotel helped me plan my trip. He asked me how much time I had and gave me a detailed itinerary. This made our experience spectacular. He suggested scenic points, picnic areas and food.

As there are not plenty of places to dine in Tusayan, we picked up some groceries prior to our arrival with intentions to cook some meals in our apartment. Although a full kitchen, no toaster, coffee pot, basic condiments, or sufficient utensils. We drank wine out of coffe mugs, we improvised with a knife to get the cork out of the bottle. A single dose coffee maker with one pod of caffeinated coffe for two adults...really! We have stayed in many apartments in our travels domestically and internationally, this was the most disappointing. Who packs such necessities when traveling thousands of miles in a luggage..you expect them to be there. For the price, not what we expected. On the plus side..close to national park entrance, clean, quiet and nice hot shower
