Reviewed By DashlifeHorrible experience, just a room with no redeeming features. No soap or toilet paper, WiFi only in tiny reception, noisy. Soulless. Only booked it as closish to railway station. Town was grim too. Definitely not recommended.

Nanda Lodge is strategically located in the main location in Mettupalayam town near the Bus Stand and within walking distance to the Railway Station with an aim of offering a complete hospitality solution for both business and leisure. The lodge is destination for those who search value for money.
Convenient location
Reviewed By Paul MWe were staying in Mettupalayam purely for the toy train to Ooty the following morning, the town otherwise having little to recommend it. The room was good value, large and cool. Hot water was available as was loo paper. Several restaurants were located nearby. This is a budget hotel and obviously one’s expectations need to be appropriate. We found it good value and clean. We also had a room away from the main road so it was not too noisy. Sadly the toy train was cancelled on the section from the train station, though we did get a taxi to Coonoor and picked up the train there, so we did see some of the view.

Terrible experience
Reviewed By rrohitThis resort was awful for many reasons: 1. Our room had stained sheets and a towel with holes.A discarded sachet of used shampoo was lying in the bathroom. The teacup in our room was cracked, which caused hot tea to spill all over. On pointing some of these issues out, the room service was extremely rude. Not a single apology was offered about any of this. 2. There was a loud party at the resort with music blasting from speakers in the early evening. The receptionist said this was a planned party (why weren't guests notified of this in advance so they could cancel their booking?). Worst of all, the loud music started blasting from the speakers again in the middle of the night at 11pm for a full hour, woke everyone up and was impossible to get any good sleep through the night. Noone was at the reception to address the noise issue in the middle of the night. Completely unacceptable. 3. The restaurant and kitchen seemed unhygienic. Restaurant server was rubbing his bare hands over plates before placing them on our table. Take your money elsewhere to have a good stay.

Comfortable bed and good staff, but dated, deteriorating and overpriced
Reviewed By VictorianladThis multi storey property that has an odd inner courtyard was said to be 350 metres from the railway station but it felt further. I was warmly greeted by a mature lady, Latha, who was very pleasant and who had good English. The chap who took my bag to the room held out his hand for a tip. Unimpressive. There was a slow lift. The room was overpriced at Rs. 2130. It had aircon, but rooms without were half the price, a big difference. While the King bed was comfortable and its linen quite good quality, the large bedroom was sparse with just a table, desk and two chairs. There was no WiFi, yet it's not the 19th century. The bathroom was faded and further deteriorating with mould evident. The shower water was hardly even tepid. Nor was there any shampoo. The worst feature was how the bathroom stank of cigarette smoke. Repulsive. The sole towel was only fair. Lighting was all fluro white, too bright. There was a wardrobe and an annoying vestibule light above the skirting board that I could not switch off, so I placed my backpack next to it. I did not use the flatscreen TV. As the hotel is 50 metres back from the road, there was no traffic noise. Overall this hotel might be ranked just 2/5 by other TA members, but I try not to be overly harsh.

Reviewed By Thomas KOn the way to Ooty ,to catch morning toy train, we two friends stayed here for one night at Deluxe non ac room from 6-7 January 2020 For the amount we spent we are 100 percent satisfied with the service!!! Neat washroom , room service.neat bed..more than enough for Rs896/- They arrange hot water before 6 am ((normal hot water time is between 7:30 to 9) As name mentioned "international" never expect international standards for this very pocket friendly tariff. Surely I recommend this hotel for one day stay at a sleepy town like Mettupalayam

Reviewed By Muthaiah PStayed overnight not worth of any aspects except close to black thunder. Looting the tourist in all aspects. Funniest part is you will not get the bill for your stay, if you ask for it you need to pay the tax portion from your pocket. Only in Tamilnadu you will find this kind of properties which have intentions of looting money from tourists.
