Palmyrah House is a luxury boutique hotel, consisting of fourteen rooms, all elegantly furnished for maximum comfort. Naturally all rooms are air conditioned, with their own private deck, adjoining bathrooms with hot-and-cold showers and having access to Wi-Fi. One of the guest building houses six bedrooms, with four on the lower deck, with two of these rooms possessing wheel chair access. In addition, there are four chalets, with two rooms each as well as adequate housing for the staff.
Located at around 12km from Mannar town, The Palmyrah House is a beautiful and serene property just off the Medawachchiya-Thalaimannar highway. The Superior rooms (for two) and bathrooms are very spacious, with all the amenities required for a comfortable stay. There are 14 rooms, including Deluxe and Suite options, spaced out in different buildings within the property. Gym, pool and library access are available. The Thalaimannar pier, Donkey Clinic and Education Centre, baobab tree, Church of Our Lady of Lourdes (Manthai), Thiruketheeswaram Siva Kovil and seasonal flamingo viewing points are all within a half hour drive from the hotel. Operations Manager Ossie and Guest Relations Manager Sathya were warm and welcoming and are doing a great job at maintaining the standards of the place. The staff, too, were courteous and friendly, making us feel very much at home - Canicius thoughtfully shared a lot of useful information and anecdotes with us, while Nathishan was attentive to our every need. Props to the Chef for dishing out some tasty food in the form of their breakfast, lunch and dinner set menus. The hotel put us through to local guide Rohini who took us flamingo-watching. She, too, was very informative, thoughtful and accommodating. Highly recommend her for anyone who would like to get to know Mannar and its birds better. All in all, it was a wonderful stay at The Palmyrah House, and we look forward to returning.

The Kitecamp consists of 17 bungalows, 8 deluxe tents, a dining area, a bar and many areas to chill and relax. All meals are included in the price as well as tea and coffee around the clock. The sunsets as well as the starry nights are stunning. The Vayu camp also offers Yoga, Massage, SUP, Kayaks and nature-based excursions. All bungalows have a 2 – 4 bed option, open-air stars showers and a verandah for you to relax.
I took my family to Vayu resort on April 2021. Situated in a remote area it is a perfect hideout from busy lifestyle. The hotel is very famous among bird watchers and researchers. We met such people there. It is nice to speak with them. Staff is friendly. Food is excellent specially their prawn curry. Our room was situated some distance away from the restaurant. It was a spacious cabana type one. Beach is some distance away from room. But the walk is joyful. You can walk until Adam's Bridge. Sadly at that time the sand banks were washed out. In the mornings and evenings the surrounding area is so mmuch beautiful. You may get a feeling like you are in another planet due to the vast area covered with sand rites.

The Hotel Agape Mannar is a newly built hotel on Mannar Island. It has been thoughtfully designed for those who love to explore but still enjoy their creature comforts after a long day! It is the first of its kind on the island and offers travellers ten very comfortable en suite and air conditioned guest rooms.
Had a night's stay in Hotel Agape in Mannar. It was very good. Clean, modern style room and toilet, comfortable bed. Service was also ok, but sometimes they seem quite busy catering in the small restaurant. However, they gave us personalised service. Seems like it's the only hotel of high standard available in the area.

The family at Pearl's Rest couldn't have been more welcoming. A cold drink on arrival and made me feel very welcome. They even worried when I arrived back after 10pm on the late bus from Talaimannar and tried to call me to check I was ok. I had a room on the first floor overlooking the pond. The room has mosquito nets, a sheet and a towel provided. The ved was not the most comfortable but it was ok for a night. The location is correct on booking.com and on Google you just have to be look at your map to take the right road but it was exactly where it should have been with light blue gates and a small Pearl's Rest sign. In the evening I spoke to the mum and daughter, the daughters English is great and she will translate all of Mum's many questions. I was catching the early train and her husband gave me a free ride on his motorbike, he provided a helmet too, to get there for 8am, it was a few kilometres as well. For £8 a night it is a cheap and cheerful option for spending the night in Mannar. There isn't too much to do here, more of a gateway to Talaimannar for a trip to see the sunset.

Only beach side hotel in Mannar district with sea bath provision, beautiful beach breezing facilities. Bird watching guidance. Free Wi-Fi & parking available. Clean & neat AC & non AC rooms available.
Place is still being renovated. Just by the main road and close to beach. However the rooms were not cleaned. We booked 4 triple rooms and requested 3 from upper floor and one from ground floor. When we were there they have already provided 2 upper floor rooms to some other people. We only had 3 triple rooms left and for other we were given a family rooms which was not cleaned and at least bedsheets were not replaced. They replace them once requested. But the service was not anyway close to our expectations. The caretaker did not understand much of Sinhala or English. Can not recommend.
