The suites or vacation apartments are preferred by families with children or by guests staying for a longer visit. All rooms are individually decorated with art and contain a small library. Bathed in light, sleek, modern and clean lines is in great contrast to lush nature of the garden. Surrounded by two terraces and with an open fireplace, the ideal place for romantic moments. There is one handicapped accessible apartment available. All apartments feature a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom/WC, towels and bathroom amenities provided, front hall, Wi-Fi, SAT-TV, mini-bar (which contains an assortment of local wines) and a parking space in the courtyard, daily houskeeping.
A short ride from the hustle and bustle of Vienna
Reviewed By aaron mThis is a lovely hotel in Klosterneuburg. We had a suite, which was very spacious. The room included a small fridge, a range and dishware. The room was comfortable and very quiet. The couple running the hotel were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was a true taste treat. There is a grocer and a bakery (Hollander) across the street. The hotel is a short stroll from Stift Klosterneuburg and Saint Martin. The hotel is very convenient to the Klosterneuburg Kierling train station, about 200 meters away. The train into Vienna requires a separate ticket from your 24/48/72/week Vienna passes (which are only good in Vienna) but the price for those tickets to Vienna is cheap (2.40) and the trains run frequently (watch the trains back from Vienna:not all stop at Klosterneuburg and you don't want to find yourself in Krems). The trip into Vienna only takes about 15 minutes. After the bustle of Vienna, it was nice to come back to the quiet of Klosterneuburg and to relax in our room, sometimes with some wine and cheese from the Spar. We'd highly recommend this place.

In den Weinbergen rund um Klosterneuburg wächst auch der eine oder andere gute Tropfen, der von den Winzern in ihren gemütlichen Lokalen – den so genannten „Heurigen“ ausgeschenkt wird. Jede Woche hat ein anderer Winzer „ausg´steckt“ also geöffnet und verwöhnt seine Gäste mit traditionellen Schmankerln. Die direkte Bus- und Bahnverbindung nach Wien-Zentrum macht den Schrannenhof zum idealen Ausgangspunkt für Wien Besucher. Aber auch für Wanderungen oder Radtouren in den nahen Wienerwald oder das Donautal ist die Lage perfekt. Das Stift Klosterneuburg mit dem berühmten Verduner Altar erreichen Sie bequem zu Fuß.
A very special and memorable visit
Reviewed By nadinebO689UNMy husband and I celebrated our honeymoon here and we were so glad we chose to stay out of the busy city. The hotel and all of its staff are charming and friendly. We were kindly upgraded to a room with the whirlpool bath and were served a heart cake at breakfast in celebration of our special occasion. All staff we encountered were very welcoming and hospitable, one lady in particular (I wish I got her name) who manned the reception desk and breakfast area. We were so happy with this beautiful hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it or return. Thank you for your 5 star service.

Our place is the ideal starting point for a visit of the austrian capital as well as for relaxed and quiet holidays with friends. The rich breakfast buffet is a brilliant beginning of a new day and the good service with tips for excursions and city walks in Vienna will make you feel at home.

Reviewed By seanconnery91had a good stay what must have been the hottest week this year up to 34°,could have not survived with the ventilator the manager borrowed us.Furniture in room was IKEA classic as we been told,beds to low and very sharp edges.Breakfast is very much austrian standard all good and fresh.Parking available.Not far from the busstation into Vienna.

It was perfectly located in Klosterneuburg and the bus to Vienna stops right in front of the hotel. The staff were very warm and friendly. The best thing about Hotel Anker was definitely the food at their cafe. We were in Europe for 3 weeks travelling around Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Austria and out of everything we ate during the 3 weeks the food here was definitely the best! Every dish we had were really great. We were extremely pleased with the hospitality and the warmth we received here and would highly recommend to anyone planning to travel here.

Reviewed By H PKomplettes Appartement mit Küche für Selbstversorger, wobei ein gutes Frühstück mitgebucht werden kann. Sehr freundliche und unkomplizierte Gastgeber. Fahrräder können im Innenhof sicher abgestellt werden. Mit dem Fahrrad sind es gemütliche 50 Minuten bis Wien Stefansplatz.

Reviewed By 557astridbEs ist sehr traurig, was aus der so liebevoll geführten Pension Strohmer geworden ist. Wir waren vor 20 Jahren dort auf Hochzeitsreise und mehr als begeistert. Deshalb fuhren wir jetzt-20 Jahre später- aus sentimentalen Gründen wieder hin und waren sehr enttäuscht. Die jetzigen Besitzer sind zwar freundlich und haben es auch möglich gemacht, dass wir unser damaliges Zimmer bekamen, aber das war es dann auch. Es wurde gefühlt seit 20 Jahren nichts renoviert oder erneuert. Es ist vieles kaputt, vergammelt oder gar verschimmelt. Der ganze Charme dieser eigentlich so schönen Pension ist weg. Am Schlimmsten war das Frühstück: aufgebackene, zähe Brötchen (dabei ist gegenüber ein Supermarkt mit Backstube), abgelaufene Marmeladen, Honig und Nutellas und der Kaffeeautomat sah auch nicht sehr sauber aus. Die nächsten Tage frühstückten wir woanders. Man könnte so viel aus diesem schönen Haus machen, leider hat man das Gefühl, dass die Besitzer dazu keine Lust haben! ?
