The majestic 250 years old Ahilya Fort sits on the edge of a cliff, high above the sacred Narmada River, surrounded by the beautiful and unexploited town of Maheshwar. The views over the river and ghats are exceptional. Replete with myths and legend, Ahilya Fort offers guests a rare chance to get off the tourist trail and an abundance of things to see and do. With the fabulous, deserted city of Mandu nearby and the famed island temple of Omkareshwar even closer, this is a place at which to spend time and relax but from which you can also explore the area, undisturbed by the other tourists – a stroll down through the town to the ghats is a must. The food is delicious and it’s all-inclusive so, once here, you pay for nothing – be it food, excursions or e-mail! The pool is lovely; terraces and shady areas abound; meals are taken in different areas of the fort; the charming rooms and tents have superb views, balconies & gardens; the weaving center here is famous nationwide. A boat trip at sundown is something you will never forget. Truly a memorable place where you could spend days or weeks! There are 10 bedrooms scattered around the premises and the rates include full board and all excursions. It is the most perfect base for visiting Mandu (1 hour away) and is just a 2-hour drive from Indore. It makes the perfect place to end or start a holiday, as there is so much to do. From here you may also visit Dhar, Baneshwar and Omkareshwar. Being a gourmet himself, your host Prince Richard Holkar has the highest standards and the food here is delicious. Staying here is like a time wrap as the village is still enclosed within the fort itself and is truly wonderful to explore in your own time.
A very unique experiences that combines hospitality, heritage, religion and spirituality. This is not a typical 5 star hotel or palace from the price point. There is no buffet or in-room dining. What you get is an paralleled experience steeped in a proud history. The fixed menu actually was refreshing. A good break from typical restaurant style. The staff went above and beyond and will do their best to make your stay memorable.

Raj Palace is leading hotel in Maheshwar...Raj Palace provides large range of accommodation facility to our customers and our hotel is located inside the Ahilya Fort and all the monuments are about 100 mtrs away from our hotel. Our hotel is situated at the river view which attracts a beautiful sight scene.

Labooz offers ideal proximity to the Fort and River. One can appreciate Raj living, sleeping at Labooz. The staff is friendly and the property and cuisine is affordable. More attention needs to be taken to care for meals, cleaning and tending to guests.

The moment you enter our building you will become aware of the atmosphere of a pleasant, quite hotel. Ideally situated in the Old Town maheshwar. This temple town on the bank of the river narmada finds mention in the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata. This glorious city has the many big ghats and temples which are very pleasant for seeing. And also known for maheshwari sarees. This city inhabits all traditional values and cultures. Touch of ancient city you will definitely feel in our hotel where staff believes to serve more and more. In other words: hospitality has a long tradition with us. That might well be the reason why so many of our guests keep on returning.
Best service and best food Avoid room no 105 it is horrible but thanks for upgrade All over very professional. They charge full if you demand small amount of salad as biting but it's happening everywhere. Near to Narmada

Aamantran at Fort is a botique hotel at Fort Maheshwar. Maheshwar is the holy city on the bank of river Narmada. it was capital of Holkars and Rani Ahilya Bai Holkar built the beautiful Ghats on the bank of River Narmada. Small hotel with all the amenities which will keep the guests at comfort.
Nice and clean hotel at affordable price. We enjoyed our one day stay with family at the hotel.Location is just adjacent to fort and for food one has to look for nearby food joints.Rooms were neat and clean with clean bed sheets and good quality of mattresses..

Hotel Motherland is situated the centre of barwaha city The whole market is at walking distance from the hotel The hotel provides luxury rooms which includes 2 bed 3 bed and 4 bed rooms with luxury washrooms attached to each rooms seperately We provide best service with most friendly staff as well
Horrible experience ! At the time of booking owner cum manager committed me for a luxury experience. As committed no restaurant around the hotel. Rooms were full of mosquitos and zhingoor. No room service, only 1 guy(local person looking like a labor) was therefor entire hotel.Train toilet like bathroom with no ventilation. No necessary amenities like water bottle, brush, towels etc. They provide hot coffee tea maker without any milk sugar tea bags that too on demand. Second day in morning for breakfast they gave me tea in small plastic polythene with small plastic glasses for my entire family with newspaper wrapped kachori and aloo pakoda. They purchased this from a nearby street hawker(but there committment was for lavish breakfast). Hotel owner demanded full payment in advance and said its our hotel policy. But as per my knowledge no hotel demands money in advance. After giving full payment he got vanished till my check out. No invoices. Very bad location with traffic sounds. No parking space. Also They have given permission to consume and provide liquor in room which makes it unsafe for family . Please please dont stay here with your family. Not a safe place to live.
